RIP Lorena Velázquez

— Mexican actress Lorena Velázquez died April 11. She was 86.

With a career that spanned more than 300 productions, Velázquez was a stellar figure in the Golden Age of Mexican cinema and continued her legacy on television. She was crowned Miss Mexico in 1960, although she declined to represent the country in Miss Universe and preferred to focus on her acting career.

MSTies will remember her role as Zorina in the movie in episode 624- SAMSON VS. THE VAMPIRE WOMEN.

There’s a nice retrospective here.

Thanks to Gordon for the heads up.

RIP Eckart Dux

Sassenburg, Germany — German actor and voice artist Eckart Dux died April 9 at his home here. He was 97.

He had numerous roles in German theatre in Munich, Hamburg, Frankfurt and Stuttgart. He also had many roles as a character actor in film and television. MSTies will remember him as Rosencrantz in the movie in episode 1009- HAMLET.

More on his life here.

Thanks to Gordon for the heads up.
