“Starship Dave” gets new captain

Variety is reporting that Pete Segal is out and Brian Robbins is in as director of “Starship Dave,” the sci-fi comedy feature written by Bill Corbett and Rob Greenberg. The movie, starring Eddie Murphy, is currently in preproduction. Shooting is scheduled to begin in March.

Robbins recently directed Murphy in the comedy “Norbit,” due out in February.
