Now Available from RiffTrax…

Incidentally, Several alert commenters have pointed out that this is the movie we see clips of in the Film Ventures Int’l credit sequences for episode 303-POD PEOPLE. And, as I noted earlier, this was directed by Don Dohler, whose “Alien Factor” was given a thorough roughing up by Cinematic Titanic.

Get it and/or see a sample here.

And, as a side note, when you buy The Galaxy Invader you get access to:

    – the VOD files (Divx, mpeg-2, Windows Media, mp4, and higher-res mpeg-4 for watching on AppleTV, Xbox, etc)
    – a DVD image (.iso) file that you can download and burn to DVD, or drop into VLC and watch it there
    – the source audio files (commentary mp3 and source audio mp3) if you want to remix the audio for any reason

I think it’d be funny if Kevin mentioned having seen the footage on mst years ago. Gonna get this ASAP…

Does that mean the non-Rifftrax version is part of the download too?

@Johnny: Technically, yes, but it’s not readily available. The unriffed audio is part of the package (it’s the “source audio” I mentioned earlier.) So if you had the technical ability, you could bring in the video and all the audio into a DVD project and make a non-riffed DVD (or include the non-riffed audio as an additional audio track).

I think I have this movie in one of those “50 Horror ‘Classics'” style collections…..if I remember right, it FEELS like it was done by the same crew as Pod People. Sans “Idiot Control Now”….

Aww, a whole movie of J.J., and no “dyn-o-mite” riff?

I’m going to assume- but would really like confirmation- that since other Rifftrax VOD titles have been released on DVD that eventually this one will be too? I’d always rather have a hard copy than a download and I MUST own this. George Stover is in it!

Just watched this last night and the guys hit it out of the ballpark — not that the movie doesn’t make it ridiculously easy.

And if you’ve already seen Alien Factor, be prepared to recognize at least 4 members of the Don Dohler repertory company.

This wasn’t very good. The movie is far too mean spirited for it to be funny with riffing.

I’ve seen it twice now and it’s a likely classic. Mike’s Jimmy Stewart impression will probably get me every time. AND the Don Knotts. I hope Rifftrax will be the one to do Night Beast when it comes time.

Thought this was mostly hilarious. Made me want to do anything possible to not be anything even remotely like the white trash in this movie. However I do have one major complaint. I thought what was done over the closing credits was completely unfunny and obnoxious. I hope they never do anything like that again. It ruined what would have been a fine funny aftertaste. If they didn’t want to make up riffs for it letting the credits run with nothing added would have been preferable. I hate Disembaudio’s voice to begin with though. Other than that I loved the treatment given to this sick little turd of a film.

We don’t have plans for a DVD. You can already get the hard copy by buying the “Download to Burn” option – that’s why it’s there.
