Weekend Discussion Group: Stuff You Have Memorized

We looked the episode featuring the classic short “Mr. B. Natural” this week, and several commenters, along with yours truly, admitted that we have the damn thing memorized. I would love to get a several thousand MSTies in a room and show them that one. I bet nearly all of them could recite at least parts of it — including the voices!

So this week’s question from me is: What bits, songs, chunks of episodes or entire episodes do you have memorized? And are there any stories that go with why you’ve committed them to memory?

Me personally, there are big chunks of “Manos” I know by heart — and how sad is that?? And I know the words to a LOT of the songs by heart, largely because in the ’90s I had a set of cassette tapes I’d thrown together that contained songs and musical sections from the movies, that I played in my car constantly.

What about you?

I love the shorts, so I have a lot of them down to memory. Design For Dreaming and Mr. B Natural immediately come to mind. I think the music helped with those.

I also think I have the entirety of Hobgoblins memorized. I do not know why. Perhaps because it is a simple film?

And I am so relieved to know I was not the only one to tape songs and bits off the show and play them in the car. Ah, the days before “Clowns in the Sky”…

“Heyyy it’s the Undersea Kingdom for you and for me and it’s FUNNNN!” to
    “Admiral, deploy the cheddarwurst.”

I live in a major US city, and I always tell my friends and fmaily to watch out for snakes. I don’t know why I do because there aren’t any snakes close by us. That and the pants song, I can listen to it and i’m just laughing up a storm no matter where I am.

I have more “bits” memorized than whole episodes. And while I don’t have whole episodes memorized I can say the lines that I do know at exactly the right time in the movie.
    .
And there is one song that I can only hear part of in my head – whenever a woman is on the screen showing off her “chesticalogical” region. I know it goes something like “chesticalogical, mystical-boobical…” If any one knows all the words that would be a great help.

Quite a few full episodes and then things form episodes pop in my mind when they’re coming out. I haven’t seen “Time of The Apes” in around twenty years but I remember the whole Johnny, I don’t care thing before the earthquake then they got to the Ape time and they meet Godo and Johnny says Godo help and Joel says Go to Hell that’s not very nice kid. Then theres another quake and rocks are falling and they keep rehashing the I Don’t care bit from earlier and then Joel says well maybe a just a little…I could go on but who wants to hear me blather on.
