    This should be good. Hopefully they’ll redo other MST movies. Like “Robot Monster”.

    They are showing this at a local theater. Last year we went to the Jack show at this same theater and they had technical difficulties and we didn’t get to see it.

    We’re not sure if we want to risk it again, or drive the 40 miles to the next theater.

    Yeah, I’m not a fan of the “drops” either. I thought I would avoid them by going on the second day when they had the x-mas one, but they were still there.

    It would be nice if it was taped and then have it in the theaters without the “drops”.

    Even though I’ll be in Myrtle Beach, I’m going to try to find a theater in the area. Would love to catch this one.

    Is this going to be a showing of the new restored version of the film, or the same old print?

    *Sigh* Nothing north of the border–I’m guessing we’re still being punished for “The Final Sacrifice” and/or Justin Bieber. Closest to my home is Bismarck, ND–and that’s 7 hours away (even Minot would do). But I can read all about it here after the fact, I guess.

    Off topic–where in the Hell, Michigan is the new CT dvd?!?!?! Rifftrax is cranking out new material like crazy. CT, I love you just as much. Don’t go letting me down.

    @Herandar, I saw on Mike day on Twitter that it isn’t the super restored version (which I don’t think is finished yet), but that it would be a better print than the one they had for MST3k…

    Bought our tix first thing today. It is kind of embarrassing how excited I am about this.

    Surprised to hear that there are places that dont have nearby theaters showing it, we have three within a 20 min drive (totally not trying to bum anyone out by saying that, just think its weird how they chose the theaters/ decide where it will be playing).

    @Servo: Dunno about Buffalo, but a couple of us from Rochester are going locally.

    Everyone else: Should I get tickets right away or can it wait a while? Rochester has three theatres showing it. I have no idea what kind of advance crowd these things have. (Plus, I can’t afford it for a few weeks anyway…)

  21. That happened to me! Shortly after O was born, I went to a new dentist for a long overdue check up. I had braced myself for a few problems, but not THIRTEEN cavities! Fortunately, I got a second opinion from a dentist recommended by several friends. She told me she saw six. Dr. Gina is still my dentist, and she has done right by me and my family on more than one occasion. I can’t even remember the name of the guy who invented all those problems in my mouth, but thinking about it still makes me mad.

    Got my ticket Friday when I went to see Prometheus (which I liked, but would make excellent rifftrax fare)-anyone else in SLC going @the Century 16?

    #11 I hear you on that. I would love for Cinematic Titanic or Rifftrax to do something up here, but I doubt it’ll ever happen. The only bright side is that, given how much anticipation there is for this, I don’t doubt it’ll be on DVD before long. And after the fact is better than nothing at all…

    We’re going to have six copies of Manos on DVD some day, you realize that?

    1) Original Rhino edition;
    2) Uncut version Amazon was selling for three bucks a few years ago;
    3) Two-disk special edition;
    4) RiffTrax version;
    5) Elvira’s version (Come on, girl, get it out on DVD! We’re waiting!)
    6) The super duper clean version!

    Then, if CT does this later, the world will fall into a singularity and Mike Judge’s Idiocracy will become a reality. (Yes, I know what I said – I don’t watch Shlox Snooze.)

    That said, of course, we’re going to be in line to see this live. I guess it gives me an excuse to visit a local theater I’ve never had any reason to visit.

    DEEP HURTING!!! :pain:

    Did the uncut version have all the good acting in it?

  27. Captn Ross Hagen says:

    I would love to see a ball park figure of how much this film has made over the years. When it was out in theaters and drive-ins how much did it earn? And now after MST3K and RIFF TRAX have given it all this attention with VHS, DVDS and a live show as well as any other versions sold how much it has and will make would be cool to see the $$$$$$$. The M-A-S-T-E-R WOULD BE PLEASED IN DEED.
    And I would like to add if the uncut version had any nude scenes did it include TORGOS KNEES? And if there is nude scenes in it would you wire up a car horn to beep when any nude scenes are on the T.V. ??? The reason I say this is for anyone who has never had been to a drive-in movie the car horn always added that special touch to the nude scenes on screen. I think it was a way saying check it out, 30 feet by 20 feet of nudity or I approve of this and others would join in on the horn honking. Over the years when I’m in a car and someone beeps and the person I’m with asks “Are they beeping at us?” I always say, “Either that or they just saw a nude scene somewhere!”

    Hagen: no nudity in the uncut version but some weird slapping business. There used to be a vid on youtube with all the stuff cut from MST but I can’t find it. If anyone knows where it is please post link.

    Just checked and this is playing in three theatres in El Paso, TX. The Master would approve.
