TOURIST TRAP is a pretty good film. Some of the same people made LASERBLAST. Can’t wait to see this version.

I just watched TT for the first time last month! Pretty good creep out flick. A good choice for them. It’s on my wish list now.
“Jiminy Glick”

This was an F’d up movie. Great Rifftrax, tho.

I wished that they would do this movie (one of my all time favorites) on MST. I almost had a heart attack when I got the email!

Wow! I saw this when I was about 10 and Tanya Roberts in her short shorts in no way influenced my nascent sexuality. The movie is a cornball post Halloween mash-up of Carrie and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, but it has some genuine scares. Especially a scene of a woman slowly having a her face covered with plaster. According to the commentary on the DVD (not the rifftrax version) the director claims that because he didn’t talk beforehand to the actresses about showing their breasts in the skinny dippy scene, there were no breasts in the film (fully exposed anyway). The lack of nudity led to a PG rating despite some pretty nasty stuff in the film (like the death by plaster facial). And since all the Halloween fans who were drinking in the glut of early 80’s slasher films were looking for R rated entertainment this movie got largely ignored by it’s target audience. If met on it’s own terms this is a great movie, but it’s great riffing fodder too. It also has one of my favorite pick-up lines, “You’re so pretty, it’s a shame you have to die”.

Awesome… I recall this being a staple of USA Network’s Friday/Saturday night “horror” movies shown during the ’80s.

Tourist Trap?????!!!! Oh my. Can Die Die My Darling and Let’s Scare Jessica To Death be far behind?
#8-Yay, someone else remembers Up All Night. Or was it still called Night Flight then?

Loved those days of USA’s Night Flight. Can still remember spending several weekend nights smoking grass, drinking beer, and happily tripping out on blotter acid through the morning with the stereo on and Night Flight on the tv with the sound turned down. Good times!

Yeah, “Night Flight”… and I think they did keep this movie in rotation right up through the days of “Up All Night” and “Saturday Nightmares”.

Funny, I saw Night Flight on the local ABC during the early-mid 90’s. Awesome, as it played lots of cool old music videos (including the banned version Frankie Goes To Hollywood “Relax”) and it was my first exposure to the Church of the SubGenius. Once saw a website with (very expensive) collections of it, should look that up again.
