Turkey Day goodies from MST3K.com

The MST3K.com site has been updated! Not only have the new animated Thanksgiving skit from the ‘bots and the video montage of classic Comedy Central Turkey Day segments by longtime MST3K editor Brad Keely been posted, but the site also boasts some nifty new opening animation. Check it out!

But still no sign of the 1993 Turkey Day segments.

UPDATE: The nifty new opening animation featuring the SOL is gone, but the rest of the updates are back. See them before they disappear again.

This is a shame, really. :-) Yours was a klandinktu outfit.

Were those Comedy Central-produced, rather than BBI?

  2. Sampo says:

Cubby: Yes, CC asked BBI to do another set of bumpers for, well, nothing, BBI told them to pound sand and that’s went CC came up with the costume party idea. The BBI folks DID know Debbie Tobin, though.

Hi-keeba! Does anybody know where I can get copies on d.v.d. of all the Turkey day bumpers? I have the printed transcripts and I would love to see them!!!!!!

    Thanks, Cubby!

Cornjob, the TD bumpers were included on the MST Scrapbook tape that the Info Club used to sell. Unfortunately, it’s no longer for sale and was never released on DVD. Maybe someday BBI will see fit to rerelease it. :???:

Oh, Poopie. Was that all the Turkey-Day bumpers that B.B.I. did on the scrapbook tape or just selected gem’s? I really wish I could find those, they have to be so sweet to see!
Thank’s Erhardt! Happy Turkey-Day to all!!!!

Yeah, the 1993 bumps were less than great.

I recently did a compilation of all the Turkey Day bumpers… download it for free @

Very cool. I love the Turkey Day bits. The old BBI scrapbook tape had all of the 1991 bumpers with Dr F trying to take over the world. They also had some of the commercials by Joel and the bots. That was the first Turkey Day. There are other collections of all the bumpers and promos out there. Go to the MST Discussion Board and look in tape trading. They’re all a hoot.

One can also get the behind-the-scenes home videos Sampo and I (and the late, great “TV’s Fish”) filmed of the ’93 TurkeyWeen bash at CheesyFlix.com

I recently signed up with the DAP, but I have no idea how to download. Can someone please help me?

And yes, I checked out MST3K.com, thought they had some really cool stuff.

    Happy Thanksgiving!

I can’t see any update :( It’s still got “Feels Like” as the latest animation, and no Turkey Day collection. They wouldn’t have put a block on non-American IPs seeing the new stuff …. would they?

Alex- The Turkey Day clips are in the ‘videos’ section. Check there and see if it works.

Cheers Hela. Yeah I looked there, still nothing. It’s as if my computer hasn’t picked up that there’s been an update. Probably just my temp internet files going berserk. I’ll give it a good kicking, see if that helps! :)

Alex- I think the website is acting up (or they’re updating it). I just went back there and all of the Thanksgiving stuff that was there a few hours ago is now gone. Hopefully they’ll have it back up soon.

Like it matters… the new animations just simply aren’t funny at all. I can’t even cough up a courtesy laugh.

It’s sorta like in the late 80’s/early 90’s when the band Quiet Riot had none of the original members. They were putting out records though and touring – nobody liked them anymore though.

Why bother? Pack it up, have some dignity!!

  20. @Chris McAvey: Go to http://www.dapcentral.org and read the FAQs. It’s all explained there. They are very nice people overall, but they have little patience for those who do not read the FAQs.

And the Web Site things is weird. I just looked at it! Now it’s all back to where it was yesterday. Something’s up. They really should have tested the Site longer before going live.

    AuntFlavia-

Hate to agree, but 100% agree I do. (other than Quiet Riot always kinda sucked ;) ) They are bad. I’m just waiting for the rifftrax of them.

Out of the 3 new shorts produced, the 3rd one is the best so far. A little short (no pun intended) but it was definitely in the theme of MST3K.

The shorts worked because their humor was in context with the movie that they were parodying at the time.

Why not have shorts with a loose story arc about finding a new “host”?

I like the new cartoons…is it possible to get those on an iTunes video podcast?

  24. Mr.Shemp says:

Is anybody else getting this weird “shadow” effect while you’re watching the new shorts? It’s like a ghost artifact of the door sequence that keeps recycling while you watch the short. Kinda weird.

As far as iTunes goes, I’m sure there’s a program out there that can capture/convert Flash files to .mov — a quick search on Google should help.

  25. R.A. Roth says:

Of course clowns are integral to long established Thanksgiving Day tradition.

However, in the centuries since the first Thanksgiving the word “clown”, as it pertains to Thanksgiving, has morphed into the term “drunk relatives” which was subsequently simplified to “relatives”.

  26. Austin says:

I for one am really enjoying the animated shorts… Sure they haven’t exactly hit their stride just yet, but you can sort of feel them testing the waters. Some people have complained about the simplified versions of the ‘bots as well, but I think they’re great. Between what Mike is doing with Legend and this (and lest we forget Cinematic Titanic!) we’re finally approaching a late, proactive MST3k community again. Of course we all pine for the old days, but I’m pretty sure that’s not the solution… Official, regularly updated MST3k website? Yes, please.

After watching their fourth short, ‘Solitare’, I have to say, the cartoons are getting better and better. The first two were a bit rough, the third envoked laughs, and the fourth was really hilarious.

  29. DAPdistiller says:

DAP should share the files on eMule. It’s not worth it trying to ‘clean up your files’ so that everything is on the white list. Give us all a break.

Also, there is no Videos section on the MST3K site. No Turkey day videos either. There are some ‘teasers’ and that’s it!

    Old news should be removed…
