Two Bits of Mike News

Two bits of news concerning Mike:

1. One of RiffTrax writer Conor Lastowka’s side project is a hilarious web site called “[Citation Needed]” which led to a book. Well, Conor and his web site partner Josh Fruhlinger have published a sequel, “[Citation Needed] 2: The Needening: More of The Best of Wikipedia’s Worst Writing (Volume 2)”.
How does this connect to Mike? Well, he wrote the foreword for it.

2. Mike is also providing voice work for something called “Armikrog,” a clay and puppet animated adventure game being created by Doug TenNapel, creator of “Earthworm Jim™ and “The Neverhood. He’s got a kickstarter going for it here.

  2. Conor says:

Thanks Dan! Sometimes I miss doing it too. I wonder if Gary ever would have got a movie made.

Hope everyone enjoys the book, though Mike’s foreword is of course a tough act to follow (Oh god, we should have got someone LESS funny than us to write the foreword! We’re doomed!)

And now I’ll have the Earthworm Jim song in my head for the next week…

Conor, autocorrect insists that you spell your name wrong. Your parents must be ashamed. But you’re absolutely one of the four or five funniest writers at RiffTrax. I recommend his book strongly. Vehemently, even.

Conor> Gary was the best part. I always wanted to hear him pitch Birdemic.

Josh Fruhlinger is also the guy behind Comics Curmudgeon, which is hilarious, one of my favorite sites to look at every day. So this should be good!

That Armikrog game looks pretty cool, I’m sure Mike will do a great job on his voice work.

I love stop motion animation. I even made a short film in college (I wish I still had a copy). This was a pretty easy decision to toss a few dollars at their Kickstarter campaign.

I used to have a recurring series on my blog called “Citation Needed.” I’m a music journalist, and regularly spot that phrase on Wikipedia. I decided to start asking musicians I interview if it’s true or not. I stopped doing it a while ago though.

What I’m saying is, Conor ripped me off! Or not.

  12. Hey would you mind letting me know which hosting company you’re working with? I’ve
loaded your blog in 3 different web browsers and I must say this blog loads a lot
quicker then most. Can you suggest a good internet hosting provider at a fair price?
    Many thanks, I appreciate it!

Hey there would you mind sharing which blog platform you’re working with? I’m planning to start my own blog soon
but I’m having a difficult time choosing between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal. The reason I ask is because your layout seems different then most blogs and I’m looking for something completely unique.
P.S Apologies for being off-topic but I had to ask!
