Is this an old interview that just got posted recently? I’m surprised he didn’t mention Cinematic Titanic being over after this year when discussing it. Also: that “Right now, we are looking at a bunch of movies for future projects…” sounds VERY interesting…

I’m not certain, but I think this may be an old interview. His remarks about Andy Kaufman and Frank Zappa ring a bell somehow.

There was another Joel interview I came across from last month, which I think didn’t get mentioned here for some reason. It’s also a good one.

This is definitely something old that was reposted. I remember the Geraldo interchange, for example. I rarely get such specific deja vu.

Then, why did he canned Cinematic Titanic?

Wait…. it was Sci Fi Channel’s idea to bring Joel back for that Season 10 guest appearance?

If that’s true…. Thank you SciFi execs!

I remember the question about Prince, The Replacements and Husker Du was asked before, but I don’t remember when.

On being asked about a return for MST3K:

“Yeah, it would be really cool to do it again. I think if I got in the position to do it, I’d want to do it with a new cast y’know and give someone else a shot at it? Put in people who were like our age when we started, because I was like 28 when we started, so I’d probably do something like that. But I’m not really the mark holder of, so it’s not really my call.”

Hm, so Joel’s okay with a reboot idea?

Also think about it, before Joel mentions looking at a bunch of movies for future projects the interviewer was asking about East meets Watts and that was how many movies ago. ????? And I would think that CT ending would have been a big part of a more recent interview. The end is the end friends, sadly.

Joel suggesting a “fresh” young crew for a reboot is very gracious of him, and it surprised me a bit. The furor here and elsewhere would probably be off the charts though. Don’t know why but I think Donald Glover would make for a pretty good host. Off course this will never happen, I’m just blue skying here…

#17 Thanks for that. I’m so glad you got me being goofy and didn’t read something dark into my post. Enjoy the weekend I hope you as well as the rest of the people on here have Friday off for a nice long weekend. Like my wife and the rest of the country, I have to work on Friday because I work at a hospital, it’s like people need so much time and attention that are in the hospital. Don’t get me wrong I only bring supplies to 2 departments. Such is life at the hospital in Burlington Ma. Hope all who have the LONG WEEKEND enjoy time with family and friends.
