A message from Mary Jo

Mary Jo asked us pass this message along:

Hey, everybody!

I’m trying something new and exciting. I’m doing a live reading of some short selections from my book, “Employee of The Month And Other Big Deals.”

Wednesday, July 17, 8:30 p.m. eastern time, 7:30 p.m. central time, 5:30 p.m. pacific time.

I’ve seen a lot of you saying, “Aw, wish I could be there.” Well, you CAN!

It’s via StageIt. Stageit is an online venue where artists perform live, interactive shows for their fans directly from their laptop offering fans unique experiences that are never archived. Live! From your computer! It’s like, ya know, SCIENCE!

Check it out: www.stageit.com

I’ll read a couple of stories from the book, there’ll be a very special “Show and Tell” about the making of “Employee of The Month”, and a few Q&As.

It’s fun, it’s free, it’s 20 minutes max.

(StageIt indicates that it’s “pay-what-you-wish” — but you don’t have to pay anything. Just join us!)

If you do decide to tip, the top tipper will win a ticket to a Cinematic Titanic show (check our upcoming schedule here: www.cinematictitanic.com).

The second toppest tipper will get an autographed copy of, “Employee of The Month And Other Big Deals”.

Thirdliest tipper will receive someone else’s book autographed by me. I’ll show you all the books I’m about to bring to Half Price books, you’ll choose one, and I’ll autograph it!

Hope to see you there!

Mary Jo

I don’t think I’ll be available for this one. Any chance she can read all of the stories as an audiobook?

#7 What a cool idea. I had a job a long time ago and I had Tapes of Steven King reading his Dark Tower books and I thought it was great to hear the writer reading their own stuff. They know where to put the passion/ humor to their work. I would love to hear Mary Jo read her book as an audio book.

I’m all for Mary Jo trying something new and cool. Making sure that a performance is never archived, though, that’s an odd thing for a site to aim for. Way WAY too many things in this world fall into the bitbucket, even now, when digital storage is cheaper than it has ever been. Why does StageIt feel we need to throw away more?

I work for a public library, with a pretty full audiobook collection. If Mary Jo read her book for one, I recommend it for our collection in a second. In fact, I’d love to have Mike, Kevin and Trace do the same for their books.

Hmm.. I dunno. Wednesday at 8:30 is usually when I watch the next MST ep for the week’s guide entry. Oh, who am I kidding? Can’t say no to Mary Jo.
