USA TODAY – “FRED” Conniff? Fred? F-R-E-D? Do you know anything about the show? Fred?

Yeah Trace. You remember, don’t you? TV’s Fred!

  3. Goshzilla says:

Yeah, Fred was the lovable, dimwitted henchman to Doctor Forestman. Don’t you remember his popular catchphrase hakuna matata?

Poor Trace. His memory must be going. It’s so sad when it’s someone you love.

I don’t know when this started, but I just saw that Shout Factory is holding a MST3k mini poster contest. Vote for your favorite and a randomly selected winner gets a framed 18″x24″ version. The drawing ends November 30th. Here’s the page:

I’m almost reluctant to watch the show again now, because I’m afraid I’ll suddenly see a redheaded, freckled half-brother of Frank’s who I never noticed before.

At least they fixed the list of movies in the 25th Anniversary DVD set; before, they had the movies from the 20th Anniversary set listed instead.

“Would you be open to guesting on a Rifftrax? Finally having Joel and Mike together riffing a movie would be the ultimate love letter to fans.”

“I would say yes. I think it will happen when the time’s right.”

    I think I’m getting squishy.

It’s only going to get worse. All the papers cut their fact-checkers and copy-editors to save money once everything went online.

A Mike and Joel riff would be this MSTie’s dream come true.

To take it to uncharted territory of nerding out….what if they did Master Ninja III?

The old Letterman “Late Night” (a show Joel did stand-up on in those days) had a parody of a Highlights magazine series, the Letterman version being called “Dos and Don’ts with Frank and Fred”. Frank and Fred…..Coniff? Coincidence, USA Today? I think not!

There’s a clue to one of the Shout Turkey Day episodes in the Grizzly Bear Egg Cafe podcast! I won’t spoil it…

This is the first time I’ve had a chance to read the Village Voice article. Joel got inspiration from both “Crackerbox Palace” AND Steely Dan?!? No wonder I love the show!
