It really says “Outlaw (of Gor)” on the box, like Gor is a huge selling point? Based on the mildly popular series of fantasy novels!

    I’ll pre-order through the Amazon.com link.

I’m glad I did, for what did I see below the MST3K listing? SOUTHERN COMFORT!!!!! I’ve wanted that movie on Blu-Ray like five years now! As a tie to MST3K, it is referenced in The Leech Woman. There’s a shot of an elephant charging through the trees and Servo says, “Babar in ‘Southern Comfort.” So I’m pre-ordering both that and MST3K: Vol. XXX together.

Just pre-ordered it through the link to Amazon. (Yay–bonus points for me!) Outlaw (of Gor) makes the set for me, but I also have a soft spot for The Black Scorpion, and of course I’m just really happy that Shout! Factory has been so consistently dedicated to MST3K.

    I can hardly wait!

Aw jeez, save $10 or get it a month earlier… This is smart of Shout for sure, I have always bought my MST sets through Amazon but this might be what gets me to make my first purchase from Shout directly!

I preordered this through Shout! Factory for just $29.99!!! I used two $10.00 coupons that I received from the March Madness promotion. This worked out wonderfully.

Gonna pre-order from Amazon for sure!!

MikeK – “Southern Comfort”, is that the one with the National Guard vs. The Cajun Swamp people?? Kind of like a “Deliverance” meets “First Blood” kind of flick?? Am I thinking of the right film, or is this “Southern Comfort” something else?

Outlaw of Gor was the original release name of the film, it’s a sequel to the film simply called Gor. And the Gor fantasy novels by John Norman were at the time extremely popular which is why someone bothered to make movies out of them, albeit bad ones. So for the person wondering, yes, letting people know the original name of the movie not only reduces confusion with other more famous films with Outlaw in the title, Gor is theoretically at least a selling point.

I managed to get 15% off from Shout! during their March Madness sale, making the price of the set about the same as from Amazon and with free shipping as well. Unfortunately for others that sale ended a few days ago.

Pre-ordered through the Amazon link. This isn’t going to be one my favorites, but I can’t stop now.

Wow!! MikeK, I have not thought of that movie in years!! I’m going to have to try and dig that one up again. I seem to remember the soundtrack being really good for that one too for some reason?

I’ve preordered mine via Amazon. Can’t wait – I have every volume except the first three, because I already have those episodes on videotape (which shows how long I’ve been collecting these movies.) Keep up the great, great work.

Amazon did this on the last set as well, starting out at $41.98 and then severely reducing the discount on the set within a few days after initially posting the item for sale. If you want the best price from Amazon these days it’s best to order the moment you see the $41.98 because that’s generally the best price they offer during the advance order period. It’s also why I emailed Sampo about it immediately upon seeing it a few days ago. However, Amazon also tends to increase the discount again at some point before release date so all is not lost.

On the last set, Volume XXIX, the price went from $41.98 to about $54.95 a few days later, then down to $49.99 which was when I ordered it. I ended up with a refund of about $8.95 after release because at some point they again lowered the price, this time to the terrific low price of $41.04. Amazon discounts tend to fluctuate so it can be useful to monitor the prices there if a current discount offering is not appealing.

I’ll be pre-ordering through Shout. I have to get it a month early in June. What if I drop dead in July? I’d never forgive myself. On a random note: Did anyone else think the cardboard box for vol. XXIX seemed flimsier than previous volumes?

I noticed someone dropped a paper soda cup and left it on the floor of the theater on the set prior to XXIX.

It’s there on the floor, near the legal warning on the bottom of the cardboard box version of the 25th Anniversary set. I don’t own all released sets, but so far, this is the only one that shows such beautiful theater litter.

I am now wondering if the 25th tin version has the same secret artwork.

JUNE 23RD. IS OUR 30TH. ANNIVERSARY.
This is a cool thing, I can’t wait. Now 30 years ago I wouldn’t have had the desire
to watch really bad movies with a guy trapped in space and his robot pals.
Now, my wife would say, “30 years ago you didn’t need a little blue pill to –well you know.”
Sometimes I need a pill to get up and do anything except watch a MST/RIFFTRAX/CINEMATIC TITANIC movie.

It’s Shout for me! The last time I ordered from Shout, they promised an Mst3k stress ball. I didn’t get one… I got EIGHT!! So when they say it’ll come a month early, it WILL come a month early. I’m vacationing in July so getting it early will allow me to enjoy it on the road instead of having it sit in my mail box. Nice!

It Lives By Night!!! I’ve been begging Shout for this one for YEARS now! Even if just for that, I’m getting mine from Shout! directly!! (That enough exclamation marks in one post, or should I add one more just to be annoying? …. !) Totally worth the extra $10 to get that a month eary. :-)
