The first Norman short they did was the best. I think it was Welcome Back Norman. The rest are ok but nothing beats the first. Did they ever find out who made them and why?

My theory is that they were meant to be shown at the start of a sales meeting or motivational conference or that kind of thing, to get the audience relaxed and in a good mood. “Ha ha ha, I guess we’ve all been there ha ha ha, and now let’s get started with ‘Basics of Organizing a Successful Business Trip’ “.

Of course they would have been dismal failures that actually left the audience feeling confused and irritated. Not a problem! Things like “What is Nothing?” and “Join Hands Let’s Go” had accustomed people to being made to watch short films that made no sense and taught them nothing.

This theory still doesn’t account for one about Norman’s misadventures in a public toilet. My theory on that is, that some things just cannot be explained.

I have to disagree with #1…I love these Norman shorts…I think they would have been great if they had done these shorts during the MST3K years.

I wonder if Norman ever went on to do anything else (or even still alive?). IMDB doesn’t have any info on the actors.

I love the Norman shorts!! I am repulsed that the film makers felt the need to show Norman, yet again, mucking about in toilet water. Blech!! :p

And while the cleaning service lady did a good groan – she needs to up her game to get to Norman levels. :)

  7. I don’t really like these Norman shorts. I find them too depressing. But this one was a little more funny than previous ones I must admit.

The one where he stays in the hotel is pretty hilarious. I remember when they showed that at one of the live shows I laughed so hard i had tears streaming down my face.

@ #8: That was the Birdemic live show, and I liked how the tied it into the film itself during the hotel sex scene (“And this is when a soaped-up Norman walks out…) I have to say that “The Spirit of St. Louis” is the greatest euphemism for male genitalia.
