It’s about time Rifftrax came home! That’s the same theater I saw Cinematic Titanic do Blood of the Vampire in!

Also, backers of their Starship Troopers Kickstarter campaign will be emailed a password for buying tickets a couple hours before they officially go on sale. I’ll be making use of that!

Of course the beautiful State Theater was the location of the 1994 live riff of “This Island Earth” at the first Conventio-Com-Expo-Fest-A-Rama!

Cool to see they are going to other venues other than the Belcourt. I did make the trip down to Tennessee for Starship Troopers (still bummed that’s like one of the only ones they won’t be able to release a VOD of) which was a blast and a nice trip, so I’m not as hardcore about them traveling to other cities as I was before, but if they did come closer to Chicago, I would most certainly go again. And I also like that the tickets are through ticketmaster from the standpoint of it actually says when the tickets are going to go on sale and everyone has a shot. I could NEVER get tickets when they were sold through the Belcourt and had to buy a marked up ticket for the time I went. And cool that they are going to a theater with some MST3K historical significance!

Any idea if this will be simulcast, or is it announced immediately when those shows are simulcast?

I am so going. My kids are so going too and have offered to pay for their own tickets, such is their desire to see Mike, Bill, and Kevin in person. Last year, our big summer adventure was House on the Rock, this year it’s SHARKNADO!

@11: tickets just went on sale for the nationwide simulcast via Fathom Events (and Fandango) today. Two local theatres in my neck of the woods (Western New York), good times.

Also, more shows in Minneapolis means greater chance of MST alums showing up. (Look, I know it’s unlikely. LET ME DREAM.)
