Ninjas all come from the greater Miami area, where they make up an estimated 16% of the population.
The art of ninjutsu was invented in Miami (Gladeview, actually) in 1923 by Pernell Lamar, a retired wholesale feed salesman.
Probably just a coincidence, but it’s odd that you should mention Dubuque, as that city was dubbed “the shuriken capital of the world” in a 1953 Look magazine article.
Those stupid Miami ninjas keep messing with us Broward County Kung Fu-ers.
I didn’t see Miami Connection, but I did finally get around to watching Stone Cold. Wow, that one was great! Easily in my top 10 Rifftrax.
Had a fantastic time at the show in Boise, Idaho! The show started a bit late; they started playing the recording a little after 7:00 and then fast-forwarded through the pre-show cards. I was hoping those would be available on the website but no joy. At least we weren’t subjected to 30 minutes of juicer infomercial before the show like they did at Sharknado 2. That was a living hell!
Maybe 100 people in the theater but everyone seemed to be having a lot of fun. Measuring Man was hilarious, especially the teleportation swirl effect and the glittery object on MM’s belt. I was definitely glad they went with something other than another Norman or At Your Fingertips short.
Miami Connection turned out to be a fantastic choice for them to riff. It wasn’t consistently hilarious but there were many good laughs along the way. The last third was definitely pure gold, though!
We had a great time at this one–a welcome change of pace after Sharknado 2. Disappointed that there was a lower than usual turnout at the AMC Lennox 24 in Columbus, OH. It looked like only 1/4 to 1/3 full. Usually there’s a much bigger crowd, but lots of regulars were there (including the couple that brings their Servo and Crow puppets!) Really fantastic job from Mike, Bill, and Kevin–I wish more people had seen it! Will definitely be there Dec. 3rd!
Just got back from the repeat; I missed the first showing.
I hadn’t read any of the comments, so I went in cold. Re: “Measuring Man”, if there are more films in this series, they have to use them. Great stuff! And the teaser for “Santa and the Ice Cream Bunny” was good, too.
As for “Miami Connection”, this was one of the most inept movies I’ve ever seen. And it reminded me of all the bad stuff about the Eighties I’d tried to forget. Great riffing, though.
And I liked the Ninja-suited Servo puppet in the audience.
Oh, I saw this at the Regal Commerce Ctr. on Rt. 1 in North Brunswick, NJ. They’ve always linked into the Rifftrax feed at the proper time with no trouble.
By the way, the Rialto in Westfield, where I used to watch Rifftrax shows, no longer carries them, though they do still show other Fathom events. I’ll have to ask them what the trouble is.
Am I only one who thought OMG guy’s dad looked like Ben Carson? I thought that was a missed opportunity.
This was my 11th live show, my nephew’s 6th, and my wife’s 4th, and we all thought it was the best one so far.
Missed last week’s showing so this was our first encore and we still missed the short :-( . Many more people than I expected, maybe 35 plus.
The whole show was consistently funny, though it didn’t have that one “big” riff to me; the one that you’re still laughing at the next day.

I’m trying to convince my wife to see “Santa and the Ice Cream Bunny” with me, but she doesn’t like Santa (he reminds her too much of a clown, which she also dislikes). Can anyone give me an estimate of what percentage of the movie actually has Santa on screen?
