Shout Pulls the Ol’ Switcheroo

In the past we’ve seen unriffed movies included as extras on MST3K releases, but here’s a switcheroo: the MST3K episode included as an extra on a DVD of the unriffed movie!

Thanks to Paul for the heads up.

I’m only surprised it took this long.

Even if the episode will be SD only (which is understandable, given how MST3K was taped rather than filmed), it’s great that episodes of the show are finally showing up on Blu-Ray.

Another “uncut” version of TBtWD…my brother has always claimed that he saw this movie years ago on WABC-NY (Channel 7) and that the “closet monster” came back to the lab and pulled the tubes out of Jan-in-the-Pan, presumably dying in the fire as well. I’ve never seen such an ending, nor was it referenced in the long article on the pic in Scary Monsters magazine. The movies’ ending does seem abrupt and begs the question of what happened to the monster. I’m assuming if the HD version had an alternate ending, they’d say that.

Of course, it helps that the movie may be Public Domain, as was the case with Rhino putting the un-MSTed versions of Eegah and Manos on their first single MST3K disks.

(That’s the good thing about Shout Factory: Once a Rhino, always a Rhino. :) )

The Alternative scene from the International cut is of the model(Doris)being topless..I don’t think there’s a different ending though..

First it’s Rifftrax on Kino’s The Incredible Two-Headed Transplant, now it’s this. I preordered up the former one because it’s a riff I don’t have, but I hope it doesn’t become a trend because it would be a pretty hard one to keep track of.
