  3. Thad says:

The Joel interview has some interesting details about the new show, including how he’s working on some new robots, plans on giving Tom and Crow more mobility in the theater (like Tom’s hovering in yesterday’s video), and wants to shorten the opening host segments and get them into the theater faster.

    Oh, Rifftrax, you wise-crackers…
I’m easily one of the biggest Entourage fans on the planet (lol) I even can tell you what episode of Entourage references Cave Dwellers! It’s true!

So, is the Naughty List like the old MST3K Oscar Special, where they would make jokes about how they’d never seen any of the movies, and throw lame from-the-outside-in default riffs about the fanboys and marketing like Seltzer & Friedberg do?

(Star Wars: Force Awakens, a month before it even exists, and ALL they could joke about was the danged Holiday Special again?? If MST3K-ism has taught us anything over twenty years, it’s that Comedy Is Research.)

Joel Hodgson: But I did do Zardoz. Were you there when we did Zardoz? I loved it.

I wasn’t! When did Joel ever riff Zardoz?
(Up till now, I thought it had “Cheap overexposed thirdhand-defaul RT joke” written all over it, but if Joel took it on, I can’t even imagine the movie-related riffs.)

Translation: (as always) “Mike bad, Joel good”… Hope you like Ray, Day & Pay 1/2 as much as you hate Mike.
