Excellent news! I’ve been waiting for both Human Duplicators and Escape 2000 for quite a while!

Yes! The Horror of Party Beach! Before they started coming out on DVD, I only had 3 episodes on VHS, taped off the Sci-Fi channel: Space Mutiny, Jack Frost, and The Horror of Party Beach. Now I will finally have replaced all 3 of them properly.

Also, this finishes season 7, doesn’t it?

Looks like I’ll have to leave the Bronx when this set comes out. Completing Season 7 is terrific, and “Party Beach” is one of the episodes that made me the MSTie I am today.

    Only 18 left! 90% done!
Did you ever think we’d get this far?

    Predictions:

    vol XXXVIII:
    Invasion USA
    High School Big Shot
    Quest of the Delta Knights
    Track of the Moonbeast

    vol XXXVIV:
    Fire Maidens from Outer Space
    The Space Children
    Colossus and the Headhunters
    Santa Claus Conquers the Martians

    vol ???:
    The Crawling Hand
    The Hellcats
    Eegah
    I Accuse My Parents

…leaving only 10 episodes unreleased. Maybe they’ll have 4 big surprises for us in vol XL (40)!

There are only enough easily released titles left for 1 more set, Volume 38, to be released late March 2017.
After that…they’re going to have to start cutting some big checks to Susan Hart.

I agree, I think starting with 39 you’re going to start seeing Rhino singles blended into the mix, maybe season 11 stuff a couple sets later. Get ready for the double dipping.

Woohoo! I love these episodes. Human Duplicators is one of my favorite Joel episodes, Escape 2000 is a great season 7, Neptune Men, although punishing, is another favorite, I only saw Party Beach once , but my memories are overall good.
Thank you Shout Factory you’ve done it again!

I don’t think we’re going to get four-disc sets with the reboot, considering they’re already selling pre-orders for Season 11 sets.

Pretty sure it’s full seasons from here on out.

Hunan Duplicators and Party Beach are two of my all-time favourite episodes. I remain undecided about the other two (well, I can’t stand the last twenty minutes of Neptune Men, but there are still good times to be had). I have only seen Escape 2000 once, and I don’t remember much about it, so it will be nice to meet Toblerone once again.

    Thank you, Shout!

Speaking of double dipping, what about actual season sets? Are there any complete seasons currently spread across the various sets? I know this means season 7 has been released in its entirety, but is it all *currently* available?

Women of the Prehistoric Planet from Season One hasn’t been reissued, so that’s out. Can’t think of any offhand.

Outstanding set!!! Human Duplicators was supposed to be impossible to release.

Party Beach is a classic episode from the Sci Fi era. The other two eps are great too! Can’t wait, and I hope Shout offers another bonus disc for preorder! Maybe a whole disc of bumpers?

    Hooray!

The season set is a “Kickstarter exclusive” – the jury’s still out on whether that type of format will ever make it to retail. I could easily see them doing their 2017-2019 sets in a breakdown of 1 “new” classic, a Rhino single, a season 11 episode or two…if season 12 happens, I’d expect it to be at least split in half (lots of shows get a vol 1/vol 2 treatment per season) but I could see them splitting it 3 ways too and keeping up with the 3 sets per year format…

Jordan Fields of Shout! was interviewed by the MSTiecast podcast earlier in the year (I’d link the interview, but server issues mean that it’s currently not available). He said they had no plans of bundling new episodes with the classic ones. He also said they weren’t sure whether or not sets for the new episodes would follow the numbering system the classic box sets have.

I remember that same interview with Brian Ward, He also mentioned that he was looking forward to sifting through the MST3K archive Shout had acquired from Best Brains. Hopefully, they can find a few interesting vintage tidbits in there to add on the last couple of sets. Personally, I’d like to see them include the RAW behind the scenes footage Best Brains sold at one point with a Diabolik DVD.

Sweet! Good on them for being pro-consumer. I just wonder what their retail plans would be considering a good number of the potential buyers will already own them because of the Kickstarter.

I would definitely be happy to see 3 or 4 sets split between half new episodes and half Rhino singles. I just figured they’d do anything humanly possible to stall the release process as they got closer to the Godzilla/Susan Hart movies. I’m still missing 3 or 4 of the singles and it would be nice to see them back in print with the usual Shout! bells and whistles.

Someone mentioned double dipping with classic season sets – I think with Escape 2000, Season 1 and 7 are all in print other than The Crawling Hand.

I don’t think the season set was ever referred to as a Kickstarter exclusive.

“Horror of Party Beach”!!! At long last, my favorite MST3K episode on an official DVD! I have been waiting, with each new Shout! collection, for this little gem to show up. Up until now, I felt like: “Of course we had to surrender! The Germans were very mean”! Now I finally believe in the awesome power of sodium!

I also don’t think the new season is exclusive to Kickstarter. You can buy it on the add-on site, and there’s a note that says, “If you order now, your boxed set will be delivered later than the box sets for Kickstarter backers, but will arrive no later than when the DVDs are available for sale in stores.”

What a nostalgic set. Party Beach and Neptune Men were two of the first Sci-Fi episodes I ever saw. And while I’m not a big fan of Escape 2000, it will be great to finally have all of season 7.

There’s actually enough for three more sets if we don’t count the Susan Hart episodes.

  37. Jose Chung says:

It’s cool that they found the rights holder to Human Duplicators. Now that leaves Quest of the Delta Knights as the last one that’s really in the “Who owns it” category.
Although it is something to note that they still haven’t been able to crack the Paramount library yet.

    It leaves:
    5 Paramount
    5 Susan Hart
    1 Godzilla/Toho
    1 Rocketship XM/Wade Williams
1 Quest of the Delta Knights
    5 Public Domain-ish films.

The next set is going to be an interesting one cause it’s going to set up some interesting roadblocks that need to be cleared in order to keep up with their production schedule.

I always figured she somehow had enough clout to get her lines recorded by a real sound engineer so they wouldn’t sound like they were being spoken in a high school gymnasium like everybody else’s (whether they were outdoors, in a low ceilinged basement room, or in a car – high school gymnasium).

Neptune Men has become a myth in my mind. I kept thinking it would never get released, despite it being listed as “likely.” Human Duplicators even more so.

This is a strong set. No telling what extras will push me over the edge into pure giddiness.

Shout is overdue to include a plastic figure to accompany the set.

I am concentrating on the early red version of Cambot.

I would like to see all the Rhino individual releases put in sets. Mainly because I want to get rid of the individual DVDs. And if Shout! can only get the rights to 2-films not yet released, put two of the individual Rhino releases to make it a full set.

From what I hear, they could offer Susan Hart enough money to buy the Solar System and she still wouldn’t sell those rights.
