In the meantime, how about a trailer?

I hope they have the new cast on How Did This Get Made. I know Jonah was on once, but it was an oddly short episode.

Since Mike & Tom & Crow are safely back on Earth, I have a feeling these are new bots created by Kinga and TV’s Son Of TV’s Frank. Similar in design, but with some new modifications.

Now the countdown is in the midst of 17 days, which, by coincidence, is also my favorite B side by Prince (1984).

Are you sure about that? How can know that Tom and Crow weren’t tracked down by a Gizmonics hit squad thanks to the transmitters that were in the RAM chips they were constantly scarfing in Season One and attached to their load pans, while Mike was unable to stop it because he had expired due to his all rice diet?

Is this in HD? I’ve gotten so used to watching the shows on You Tube & ROKU,taken from scratchy videotapes of scratchier old movies, these new ones will seem like Virtual Reality.

Well, we know from the trailer that Kinga and TVSOTVF had nothing to do with it: Jonah is a “space trucker” who was lured to D13’s new moonbase by a (snicker!) distress call, and is trapped on the planet (rather than the satellite), but Crow and Servo were already his ship crew from the beginning.
I’m guessing he bought them in used salvage–Probably not from the same Jawa vehicle, though, that one was blown up.

personally i hope they’re not recreations; i’d rather they’re considered the originals… just wouldn’t feel right. no way the callbacks would make any sense then, even if their bit-brains got hacked/dl’d/rebooted by kinga!

mildly hoping that when they first appear on the bridge, it might go a little like:
servo: huh? wha’? hey chewie… we’re home!
    crow: rrraaaggghhh!

Where’d you see that? I don’t see Crow or Servo in any of the shots where Jonah’s in his space truck; I gathered that he got shot up to the SoL and they were already there.

(And while we don’t see the exterior of the SoL, that’s definitely the SoL bridge. Presumably Kinga shoots him up there after trapping him and pulling him down to her base — which looks like it may be called Moon 13.)

There is so much Florida as Nova Scotia in that movie that it’s embarrassing.

I don’t know why anyone should care overmuch about the “plot” of MST, reboot, original, or whatever. It’s always just been a tissue-paper thin excuse to get people in a theater mocking bad movies.

To the best of my knowledge no tissue paper was used in the construction of MST3K. Plywood, plastic, and thrift store products? Yeah, sure. Of course, you don’t have take my word for it. Ask Brad’s wife down at Cracker Barrel. Oh wait. They fired her. And on Brad’s birthday. I hear Sampo was really torqued about it.

Ah, a million years ago when dinosaurs roamed the Earth and you got fifth gen VHS tapes of fan films.

Interesting list of movies, if it’s accurate. Nothing in black and white or made past the 80s, but I’ve always wanted to see them do Reptilicus and Starcrash, and I was kind of worried the movies would skew a little too good since they have to be HD. And even though Rifftrax already did Wizards of the Lost Kingdom I hope New MST3K is doing it too (maybe that’s why Rifftrax pulled it). I do feel they are kind of missing out a little when all the movies have to be color and in widescreen. I doubt there are widescreen versions of stuff like Final Sacrifice, Werewolf or Future War, which are some of my favorite episodes. Still, this is exciting!

My take– which is really a hopeful guess– is that this is analogous to the early Sci-Fi era, where there were no shorts, everything was SF and from Sci-Fi’s library, and the first bunch were back and white.

We got a better (and IMO healthier, if that makes sense) mix later, including that Gumby short, (though we didn’t get any more old-timey serials).

My favorite MST3k shows are the failed 70’s and 80’s series stitched together to make a movie. Codename Cubic Zirconia Head, Riding with Death and Master Ninja. I loved the Film Ventures credits at the beginning and end.

Any chance we’ll see some more of these episodes err I mean movies in the reboot? I hope so. Preferably from the early 80’s epoch. When the music in Master Ninja sounds like it is being eaten by the tape deck it just makes me all warm and fuzzy inside.
