Although if you see Rogue One, you’ll know why some fans call it “The movie we were afraid Force Awakens was GOING to be when we first heard a girl was going to be the main character…”
(Or, “How Mary Sue saved the Rebellion.”)

Can it really be a Mary Sue character if she doesn’t [BIG BUT PREDICTABLE SPOILER COMING]

Is the problem that you think Rey is a Mary Sue, or that you correctly observe that she is female? If the former, I fear you do not understand the term “Mary Sue.” If the latter, then I must agree that you are probably a misogynist.

Rogue One has the best Star Wars robot, bar none. And Darth gets his groove on with his funky self at the end in wonderful slaughter force fu choreography. As for riff-ibility, it’s not a goofy train wreck; so it might not be the best target, particularly when there are riffs already for 8 other movies in this universe.

For those people here who haven’t heard:

Pluto TV has a Rifftrax channel! And a MST3K channel!

I watched “Fun in Balloon Land” recently and it was quite an experience.

Here are Kevin’s and Bill’s tweets about Pluto TV.

It’s available at an internet near you. :-)

    Enjoy.

No, Rey, to our surprise, was not a Mary Sue, and that was the most watchable thing about Force Awakens–
Jyn “Nyeahh, my daddy’s gonna ruin your Death Star, so there for your stupid Empire, plfft!” Erso, OTOH…

I’m just concerned that the “Rogue One” track will feature yet more “boy, do we hate the Prequels” riffs. That’s gone beyond beating a dead horse into following the dead horse into the afterlife and beating on him some more.

And I’m sure RT will tastefully abstain from six-degree associating anything SW, post-Lucas or not, with the Holiday Special–
After all, they’re not so desperate, they know when it’s time to move on…

IT’S GREAT, BUT NOW ALL THOSE RIFFS I BOUGHT BUT HAVENT WATCHED YET ARE MOOT…ALSO, CAN SOMEONE TELL PLUTO TO STOP AIRING “THE SLIME PEOPLE” EVERY OTHER DAY? IN BAD NEWS, ROKU’S ‘CHANNEL PEAR’ NO LONGER HAS IT’S MST3K CHANNEL. THAT LEAVES ONLY PLUTO, NETFLIX AND YOU TUBE…PRETTY COOL.

You can also buy some MST3K episodes from Rifftrax.com with the profits split among the cast members whom Jim Mallon ripped off. (Which is apparently everyone.)

Each episode comes with a nice intro from Mike, Kevin, Bill, or Bridget and Mary Jo,

Please turn off the all caps. It’s yelling. :-(

+++++ Sorry, though It’s not Really like yelling; To be fair, I believe Joel sold his interest in the show to Mallon when he left. Whether other cast members were Legally entitled to profit participation is a contracts question that we can’t answer without knowing more facts. Most (or all) of them will be getting some cash going forward, but whether that’s something they were owed or just a good will gesture to get them to appear on the Reboot (or at least not dump on it), we can’t say. Josh & Trace have been pretty tough on the Reboot, so we can assume their checks are still in the mail.

Please turn off the all caps. It’s yelling. :-(

Sorry, It’s either “all in caps” or “in the middle”, you can’t have both… :)
