RIP Joseph Campanella

SHERMAN OAKS, CALIF–Joseph Campanella, a prolific character actor whose career on the big and small screens spanned more than a half-century, died May 16 at his home here. He was 92.
Among his nearly 200 credits were a regular in the role in first season of the 1967-75 CBS cop drama “Mannix,” for which he earned an Emmy nomination, and a Daytime Emmy-nominated late-’80s/early-’90s role as Harper Deveraux in the long-running NBC soap “Days of Our Lives.” He also appeared as Jonathan Young in nearly 100 episodes of CBS’ soap “The Bold and the Beautiful” from 1996-2005.

Longtime MSTies will recall that he played Frank Lafferty in the movie in episode K19- HANGAR 18.

The Hollywood Reporter has the story.

Thanks to Timmy for the heads up.

Yeah, I definitely recognize “that guy”. :/
As was mentioned elsewhere on this site, I would be hard pressed to say where I’ve seen him, but I have, many, MANY times.
RIP, Campanella; may angels sing thee to thy Rest.

Each week, I randomly select an MST episode to watch. This week’s selection: “Hangar 18”. Plus, I’m watching a DVD from Netflix with early episodes of “Mannix”, when Campanella played Lou Wickersham, Mannix’s boss. Weird, eh?

Oh, and Campanella was mentioned in the last host segment on “Space Travelers”, along with the rest of “The Bold Ones”.

  3. Another one of these “I thought he was gone already” kind of things.
I thought I read he died last year or so.

    Thank you for the update.
Always liked him. Girst noticed him on One Day at a Time as the divorced father.
