RIP Charley Pride

DALLAS — Charley Pride, a Country Music Hall of Fame singer who rose from rural Mississippi to become the genre’s first Black superstar, died here Dec. 12 due to complications from COVID-19, according to his publicist. He was 86.
Pride launched his career in the 1960s, and became the best-selling artist for RCA Records since Elvis Presley.

MSTies will recall he was mentioned in a host segment in episode 610- THE VIOLENT YEARS.

The Tennessean has a look back.

Thanks to Tim for the heads up.
