RIP Antonio Sabato Sr.

Antonio Sabato Sr., the Italian American actor who starred in the 1966 all-star racing epic “Grand Prix,” died Jan. 6 in a Los Angeles hospital from complications of the coronavirus. He was 77.
After “Gand Prix,” he went on to star in dozens of Italian and American movies, including the spaghetti western “One Dollar Too Many.” MSTies will remember him as Dablone (aka “Toblerone”) in the movie in episode 705- ESCAPE 2000.

The Mirror has a nice retrospective.

Thanks to Tim for the heads up.

RIP, and condolences to his family and friends. The Covid Monster claims another person, gone too soon. I thought he was very handsome… so long, Toblerone!

  2. I didn’t see much of a “nice retrospective”…just Junior’s mindless blatherings!

Toblerone will be buried in a tasteful yellow triangular coffin.

I recall Mary Jo being quite taken with Toblerone and observing that swarthy dark haired men were rare in Circle Pines. RIP

Yeah, Jr. protested against masks as his father lay dying from Covid. Douche probably gave his father Covid and doesn’t care.

His Twitter comment was “Ciao Poppa…always and forever in Jesus name” That’s not blathering…are you filling-in for the vacationing ERIC?

Are you an anti-masker, or are you complaining that I agreed with geomst3kfreak that the article was a poor retrospective, since it was half Jr.’s anti-mask and pro-Trump blatherings?

I didn’t read the original piece closely originally. When I did, I realized it was a little problematic. I’ve replaced it with a more neutral one from The Mirror.

Actually, it looks like they changed the article from the Daily Mail article to an article by The Mirror that is an actual retrospective, rather than focusing on Jr.’s beliefs. Please disregard my above post.

In all seriousness, Dablone/Toblerone was one of the most memorably enjoyable characters in any MST movie. This might make for a discussion thread if we still had them.

Such a memorable Mst character. I loved him in Escape 2000. He stole the movie with his over the top Dablone. Rest in Peace Sr.
