The Buick with the Hydromatic transmission was popular with women at this time, not because of the salesman but because of the fact that it was an automatic shift, something we take for granted today. The giant, by today’s standards, steering wheel was due to the lack of power steering on most models. It gave the driver more leverage.
My father was stationed with US Army in England at the time helping to guard B-36 nuclear bombers and gained an outside income selling Buicks to servicemen headed back to the States. A brand new Buick would be waiting for them when they got home. Sweet deal. He got a brand new, shiny Buick Roadmaster out of the deal complete with fake holes in the sides.

There appears to be no entry for this short on IMDB. But it should come as no surprise that the writer listed in the opening credits (Leo S. Rosencrans) was responsible for Once Upon a Honeymoon.

Where is Fred Sanford to call me a “Big Dummy”? That was an Oldsmobile, not a Buick, in this short. My grandmother had an Olds. She called it Oscar. I guess because it was a car. She was not big on explaining herself to children.
