RIP John Madden

Pleasanton, Calif. — John Madden, the Hall of Fame NFL-coach-turned-broadcaster whose exuberant calls combined with simple explanations provided a weekly soundtrack to NFL games for three decades, died at his home here on Dec. 28. He was 85.

The Washington Post has the story.

MSTies may recall that he was mentioned in a host segment in episode 423- BRIDE OF THE MONSTER.

Thanks to Tim for the heads up.

It is well known that John Madden was averse to flying. It is also well known that he was a pretty smart guy. From one big guy to another… Now you can fly all you want. RIP
