  1. mst3kme says:

    From Wikipedia.

“Universal Soldier III: Unfinished Business is a 1998 American made-for-television science fiction film directed by Jeff Woolnough and starring Matt Battaglia, Chandra West, Jeff Wincott, Richard McMillan, and Burt Reynolds. It was produced (with Universal Soldier II: Brothers in Arms) as a miniseries for a potential TV series. Like Universal Soldier II: Brothers in Arms, none of the actors or crew of the original returned, but all the cast and crew from the first sequel are present. In 1999, a theatrical sequel starring Jean-Claude Van Damme again, Universal Soldier: The Return, ignored the plotline of the two sequels.”

If nothing else, at least this one helped Burt Reynolds pay off his debts.

I thought it was either Burt Reynolds or a beardless Kevin Murphy.

  5. The original JCVD Universal Soldier was one of Carolco’s productions, which fell out of copyright after Showgirls and Cutthroat Island put the studio out of business, and left the title up for cheapo direct-video grabs by whoever could buy the title and liked to pretend.
In other words, sort of like the bargain-basement Terminator “sequels”, only….cheaper. Sort of like “Basic Instinct 2”, only cheaper.
