Rhino tells us the single-disk version of episode 402- THE GIANT GILA MONSTER will be available only at rhino.com for a price of–get this: $7.98 (cheap!). Our source also tells us it will only be available for a limited time (essentially until the limited pressing runs out–although we were also told that if sales are really strong initially, they may do a second pressing).
UPDATE 1: We can now confirm this report, which says that Dr. Forrester (Trace Beaulieu) and TV’s Frank (Frank Conniff) are also in the “Message from Joel” and that Tom Servo and Crow also have speaking roles.
And for those who did want a true replacement for the previous disk, we’re told the “Photo Gallery” (featuring a collection of historic Best Brains still photos)–which was included on the old Godzilla vs. Megalon disk, is also included on this one.
UPDATE 2: Ahead of schedule, the disk is now available for preorder!

UPDATE 3: We’re now being told that the disks will not actually ship until Feb. 11. “Since this is a limited edition special run we need extra time to get the product ready,” our source said.

Good to know. I kept refreshing rhino, amazon, and bestbuy.com looking for this to show up. For that price, I bet there’s no case. I was a little disappointed when I got my Cinematic Titanic disc in the mail in a paper sleeve.

Don’t bother with amazon or any other retailer. Rhino said from the get-go that this was not going to be a true commercial release, but a limited on only from Rhino.
If the image is anything to go by (and not just a mock-up), I’m expecting a hard cardboard sleeve with artwork, not an amray.
The question for me is: does that $7.98 include shipping? If not, how much will *that* be? Because even though I need to get 10.2 ’cause I missed the original, at $8, I might want this anyway just for the novelty.

I might miss every last detail, but shortly after Volume 7 was released, many fans noticed that the Killer Shrews DVD was missing about thirty seconds from the start of the movie right before the credits. Many fans protested and Rhino offered a replacement disc with the FULL movie included to those who wrote in requesting one.
It did take FOREVER (it seemed) for the disc to be mailed out, but ultimately Rhino made good on their offer.
And, like Shorts Vol. 3 (Dammit! How did I miss one?!) it was only offered for a limited time.

1) The sets are struck, but who knows how little they need to “make magic”. (As someone pointed out, chromakey could be the answer.)
2) We don’t really know anything about anyone’s relationship with Jim right now. We have rumors and grumbling, but very little in the way of hard facts.

The back of my VHS of Pod People says the cassette was released in 1991, same year as the episode.
Also, I want Ernhardt to meet Frank and maybe a little bit of a hint as to how he “went missing.” But I know it probably will not happen.

While I can’t say for certain that 1996 is the right date for the first Rhino VHS releases (and I was searching for this info here with no luck the other day – did I miss it?), I can *definitely* say that 1991 is incorrect.
I bought them all when they came out, and played them in my VCR. I didn’t own a VCR in 1991.
My copy of ACM says the episode was copyrighted in 91 and the video was in 96.
Okay, this turned into a minor quest for me…
According to the FAQ, “A: Rhino Home Video released about 30 episodes on VHS cassette beginning in 1997 but stopped producing VHS tapes a few years later when they converted to all-DVD sales.”
According to Amazon’s sales pages, Cave Dwellers, Mitchell and Amazing Colossal Man were released on April 30, 1996; Pod People and The Brain That Wouldn’t Die were released on October 1, 1996.
I can’t tell whether it’s a good thing or a bad thing that I don’t remember these facts.

I just got the 10.2 box set that had the Joel skit included (which I had originally questioned, but now I know). It is only a couple of minutes long and just talks about replacing the Godzilla movie (which they mumble to avoid saying) with the Gila Monster disk. It’s pretty funny and was shot in front of green screen (no sets) which was fun cause they actually had Servo hover
BTW, Joel and Frank have obviously aged while Trace is creepingly the same

I think the charge vanished because they havent sent the disc yet, when the send the DVD, they will take the 12.12 out of your account. Amazon does the same thing as do most companies, that you arent billed until they ship

I got the same backorder e-mail, so I wrote and questioned them about the status of the DVD. I got this response back:

This item is now on backorder pending its arrival from the manufacturer. We anticipate the delivery of most backorder items within 2-3 weeks. Your backorder item will be shipped out promptly upon its arrival, and you will not be charged until it is shipped to you.”
I ordered this item on the day it was first made available for pre-order. What, they only ordered five copies? How could the entire initial stock be depleted?
I wrote back asking them to double-check that. If the discs aren’t ready yet, they aren’t ready, but don’t give me a line about the initial stock being depleted on a pre-order that was made the first day possible.
Bet I get another stock response back.

Just heard back from Rhino. This is what they’re saying now:

Once the GIANT GILA MONSTER DVD’s have been received your order will be shipped to you. In addition please note that a confirmation email will be sent to advise you that the item is in transit to you.”
So it looks like it’s not ready yet, and Rhino (or at least this particular customer service rep) doesn’t know when it’s going to come in.
I got the email saying that my “backorder isn’t ready yet”. Ummm…wasn’t this pre-order? And since it’s pre-order shouldn’t they conceivably have SOME idea of how many they need to press, thereby allowing them to ship the item ON TIME? Has anyone actually reveived confirmation on the shipping? I mean, how can the stock be depleted if not a single soul has received one yet? At this point, I’m really starting to feel like the move to Shout! Factory is a step way, way up.

re #81: Don’t worry John W. The credit companies try to screw us in alot of ways, but as long as you pay off your balance at the end of the month, you won’t owe them anything. There’s a reason they call people who are financially responsible enough to pay off short-term debts “deadbeats” after all; the credit companies make most of their money off people who keep large debts running year after year.
Everyone else, I also ordered the disk on the day preorders were availble. Aslo got the message that I’ll get a message as soon as they ship the disk or tbey are unavailable to fill the order and cancel it. I worked for a while in a warehouse; I understand what it is like to deal with demand for a product that is not in stock.

Last year I used the Buy It Now option to buy a computer I couldn’t afford at the time. They gave me 6 months to pay it off interest free…and it did!!
Not long after it was paid off I tried to buy a telescope using the same service (nearly the same amount) and they turned me down. The reason they gave was complete BS. I asked the telescope company to drop the service in protest. They just gave me a $50 off code and said I could use it whenever. I really felt I was some kind of victim here. I’m certainly okay with the telescope company, but I won’t be using Buy It Now ever again. I’m sure they are sadden with losing such a great customer like me!!

I was the one who informed Satellite News the preorder link was up, and I have yet to receive a copy either.
Yeah, I’m annoyed and junk, but honestly, there are bigger things in life to worry about.
I figure it will just appear in the mail sometime in late February or early March, catching me by surprise, like the replacement Killer Shrews disc. Rhino wants all of our money, and they will come through, eventually.
Just repeat to yourself it’s just a show and you really should relax.
i honestly can’t see how anyone could be “furious” over this situation. nobody has paid for the disc yet, and its not as if “gila” was a hard to find episode. its been easily obtainable in trading circles since its original airing. sure, this edition has a few minutes of new material, but it’ll still be there when they finally send the discs out. relax, people….

Has nobody heard of a thing called a DEBIT CARD? It works just like a visa except it just takes funds out of your checking account like a check does. But no interest payments or anything. EVERY bank has this available and it is free.

Im not surprised by this at all. Knowing Rhino it will take as long as it did to get the Killer Shrews replacement disc. I think we will get it. I refuse to buy Volume 10.2 for one title, so I will wait forever if I have to. My VHS tape isnt bad quality, so even if I have to wait for the DVD, I still have a good tape copy of it.
Here is an idea…….
Buy the DVD set Volume 10.2, remove the Giant Gila Monster DVD, return the set to the store saying it was missing the disc and demand a refund!!

I’m hoping this is just a delay with the printers, which happens from time to time for everyone. The Strawberry panic manga was supposed to be released LAST March, and we finally got in in my store a couple of weeks ago.

I never got that reference as a teenager watching the shows on Comedy Central… then at some point in my ’20s I read the novel without remembering the MST3K reference… then years after that I re-watched the short, everything fell into place, and I fell off the couch laughing (not literally, but you get the idea.)
Anyway, that’s one reason I’ve always liked the show; you can watch an episode multiple times and still find something fresh to laugh at.

I still haven’t gotten that e-mail, the last one I got was the “Your item is back-ordered” e-mail. That was maybe a week ago? I’m not sure.

If there’s one damn thing I have…it’s a knack for being patience and the good Dr. Rhino and his nursing staff have really gone out of their way to appreciate me.

I gave up and got the set since I hadn’t picked it up originally. I did email a rather irate email to Rhino, showing how happy I was to see Shout Factory take over.
“As far as the feller who doesn’t have a credit card ordering a copy he can do this:

3) order your copy of Gila Monster and still have $13 to spend on something else.

I wrote to Rhino when the single was released because I had a Visa Gift Card left from Xmas and was told that they can’t accept them. MC, Visa, Discover and Amex only. Which is stupid because even the piss-ant little store I work for accepts them on their website.
And so you all know – when you buy something with a credit card, an “authorization” for the amount of the order goes onto your credit card. It both freezes that amount in your account and double-checks that the information you gave them matches the card. That amount of money is held anywhere from 3 days to a month (depending on the bank). If the website or store doesn’t put through official request for the money in that amount of time the authorization drops off.
And most online merchants don’t put the charge through offically until they ship the item.
Just so you know.
I’m noticing quite a few Rhino video items on backorder status. I’ve wanted some of the Krofft things and most stores have those as backorder and they keep moving the dates. I bought the main ones I wanted (Land of the Lost and Bugaloo …hee hee) off ebay. I couldn’t sleep at night because I was worried I’d miss out of these shows. Are they having problems with more than just this single DVD release?
I just got an email thanking me for subscribing to the Rhino News letter. I guess I checked that when I ordered this…3 weeks ago! When they finally send this DVD to me I think I’ll smoke it in a bong. That’s what they’ve been doing…smokin em!

I got a THIRD email from Rhino today (early AM Feb. 25) telling me the disc is STILL “backordered.” And yes, I ordered the morning it came online. If Joel can dupe x-number of Cinematic Titanic DVDs at the drop of a hat (mine took less than a week to arrive), it shouldn’t take a company like Rhino — which is part of the Time-Warner empire, mind you — to get this done. Or maybe that explains it after all…

Really really nice to see a new Dr. Forrester, Frank, Joel, and the bots skit. I’m kinda of a completest, so I hope to still get the single also. I’m watching it right now and it seems like a really good episode. I’m sure when it’s shipped you’ll all enjoy it. Nice to see Best Buy finally has MST3K on the shelf again too. They got in 10.2, 11, and 12. Several copies of each.

I was just being a smartass. File it under frustration.
I wonder if the delay has nothing to do with Rhino, but is a replication issue. I know several smaller production houses (such as Bandai and ADV Films on the anime side) have had problems getting titles out on time due to problems getting their stuff back from replicators. And the big studios take up most of the replication time, spitting out copies of Norbit and I Know Who Killed Me, while smaller places like Rhino (yes, they are part of Time-Warner, but they are small potatoes) get pushed to the margins. Add to the fact that Giant Gila Monster single is a short run (1500-2000 copies is nothing for most replicators), they might be having problems slotting this in.
Or maybe they just don’t care.

I didn’t find out about this until Feb. 22, and I’ve been checking the Rhino site daily. If “not currently available for sale” means “won’t be available for sale in future”, it would be nice if they’d quit teasing those of us who missed the deadline.

Its just weird that I also got another “backorder notice” today, and yet for the second time I have a pending charge in my bank. I really hope the charge doesn’t reverse again as I hate having my bank account messed around with like this.

Well, they’re probably playing on our impatience and intentionally frustrating us so that we’ll get fed up, cancel our orders and go out and but the expensive four disc set instead. Pretty crafty of them to play off our obsessive fandom. I’m glad I won’t be doing business with them in the future.
It took them 8 months to replace a couple of Monkees DVDs that were scratched. They sent the “sorry!” emails about 3 or 4 times. Eventually one DVD showed up. I got another “sorry!” email explaining that the next one would be a little late since they were having problems getting the replacement. It showed up months after the first one. And that was it. Not! They sent another “sorry!” email explaining that my replacements were delayed. I thought it was a mistake…or a twilight zone moment. But then I got duplicate replacements in the mail. So….when Rhino is done sending everyone duplicates we’ll all be nummy muffin cocoa butter happy again! Incidently, as soon as someone gets their dup I’ll pay you 5 bucks for it!
Time to just buy Vol. 10.2, burn The Giant Gila Monster disc, then send it back saying it didn’t load in any of my DVD players, get a fresh, sealed copy of the boxset back, then take that copy to Best Buy or something and say you wanna return it, but don’t have the receipt and get store credit and use that on whatever.
Pending charge is gone again.
I guess it was all a dream that they took the money out of my account twice now, damn teases.
WouldntYouLikeToKno, look out! You’ll set off the alarm hauling your ill gotten set into best buy. That happened when I ordered Lord of the Rings from Columbia House, they had a lot on their “To Do” list and “send Radioman970 his Lord of the Rings DVD” was at the bottom. So I snagged one at Walmart and tried to return the CH copy to the store. I set off the alarm. Luckily the store wasn’t busy (most embarrassment avoided) and they took the CH one like it was one of their own. Suckers!!!
I’m more and more convinced this is because they didn’t restrict this to just people who could prove they owned the first Volume 10….and all of these “eBay Millionaires” got on there and bought hundreds at a time.
And now Rhino doesn’t know if it should crap or wind their watches…

Did they offer to let me try another card? No, I just got an email saying the order was cancelled – and now there’s no way to reorder! I wrote and asked them about it but all I got was basically a “so sorry, sucks to be you” note. I won’t be using Rhino’s online services again and I’ll probably have to rent “Gila Monster” at Netflix or someplace and make a copy.

Similar happened to me. I lost my ATM card in mid feb.and had to cancel it (Nothing lost thankfully). I even contacted Rhino 2 weeks ago to ask them about changing the CC info so it would go through when the disk did ship and they told me that there was no way to do it, even though I contacted them BEFORE the ship date. What a horribly run company to give their customers absolutely no leeway.
Vinylsaurus, DrForester – same thing here. I even went so far as to argue with them that I was entitled to a copy since I ordered on day one, and that they should be able to just take my new card info – case closed. They refused to admit that it was essentially their fault after weeks of delays, when, had it been ready as promised, this would not have happened. No offer to help, no apology that felt like it was sincere, just “we’ll contact you in the future if we decide to offer the disc again.” Yeah, RIGHT.
Rhino can suck it. With service like this, I welcome change for the MST3K license. Bring it on.

If you’ve missed out on buying the single disk, at least with the long wait, the 10.2 set with “Gila” is now being offered on Amazon “used” for $25. So it’s slightly more than the single disk, but still better than dropping $40.

I’ll stick with Rhino stuff. They brought the Monkees back, some seriously retro (although mostly imcomplete) Krofft offerings, and lots of MST3K over the years. This is but one bad apple off the apple tree as far as I’m concerned.

I am happy to report that I finally got my Giant Gila Monster Single Disc!! Yipee!!! I played the special feature and it is really cool! Believe it or not, Tom Servo is voiced by…. FRANK CONIFF!!! (No joke, unless my hearing is way off, it sounded definitely like Frank and not Josh, definitely not Kevin Murphy).
The whole thing is done really well, if you don’t look closely, you’d think that it was shot in 1992, very little has changed about these people, I belive the sets are green screened, so it really does look authentic!

I got my disc today. It’s the first time that I’ve seen the episode. It’s very good. The 10.2 introduction by Joel and the others was well done. I almost thought it wasn’t Frank Coniff as Servo, but I think you can tell it’s his voice towards the end of the sketch. The whole sketch was well done. It’s like Joel never left the SOL and Dr. F. and Frank as still living in Deep 13.
Got mine today too…so far so good.

You know, Rhino did manage to put out some very nice quality episodes during their run. I liked the packaging that came with the boxed sets as well. They did have some QC issues with a few (The Dead Talk Back, Merlin, The Atomic Brain, The Killer Shrews), but overall a larger majority of their MST3K catalogue was decent. Rhino really struggled obtaining movie rights from film distributors over the years. I bet they got the runaround so much they finally gave up trying on many episodes; and entirely when they sold rights to Shout! Factory. Does anyone think SHOUT! Factory will have better luck in getting rights to release MST episodes to DVD? I personally think they will run into the same legal roadblocks that Rhino did, not to mention the producers and directors that did not appreciate seeing their “art” being ridiculed. Some of the movie distributors are Universal, Columbia and Paramount. If BBI struggled to keep rights to films during the show’s run, how does SF expect to have better luck?
I suspect Shout Factory will do what Rhino did, go after easy to get titles. Maybe they have a better rapport & more contacts for harder to get titles. Who can say really.
I bet they also try to release some titles that will cause a DVD to be pulled after legal issues pop up.
I wish something new would pop up about Shout Factory’s plans already.
I was overall happy with Rhino, box art isnt a factor me for. I liked that they were able to release close to 60 episodes. Sure they made some errors, but smaller companies are prone to do that. Well I remember when the Back to the Future DVDs were recalled because of the way they were formatted, and that was a major studio blunder.

I don’t know what kind of trouble Shout! will run into but I’ll sure as hell buy every single release as soon as it is available for preorder. I was lucky to find Vol 10 at a FYE store on Christmas Eve ’06, one single copy with only the binding exposed. I saw the “Vol 10″ on the edge and was sure I was seeing things. I turned it around and saw the dinosaur and was still sure I was seeing things. That was one of the most satisfying purchases I ever made. But I’ll trade that for a quick purchase any day of the week.
Oh, forgot to add, I still don’t have MY FRIGGIN GILA MONSTER!!!

Yeah, Rhino really has done well. Even with the flub on vol 10. We did get a movie that was impossible to get officially! And the jukebox extra is terrific, whichever DVD that’s on. Giant Spider Invasion? Anyway, it’s real creative.
I just got my package in the mail today and instead of the DVD…. I GOT CAR STICKERS!! That’s it. I called up Rhino and the lady on the phone said that, yes, they’re completely sold out now but there was nothing she can do to credit my account.
Basically, I got screwed and they took my money.

Nice to see Trace and Frank in their “Deep 13″ gear (didn’t Jim ebay all that stuff off? I know that *I* happen to own one of each of The Mad’s lab coats, do they didn’t get them from me!).
And yeah, it seemed weird to see how all three have actually gotten older (damn you Father Time), but it was very very cool to see them all back in action again (and it took me a second to catch that the SOL was all greenscreen except the table – well done!)
We’ve noticed that Frank did Servo’s voice, but did anyone notice that it’s the Servo from Comedy Channel/Season One that they used?
This tells me that they weren’t from Joe Crow, as some would guess, but that they’re from the cast’s personal collection. Good thing too. I don’t want them to ask Jim for ANYTHING again.

There is absolutely no difference between the disc in the 10.2 set and the one that some people have managed to receive through all this turmoil – save for a half-assed cardboard sleeve that Rhino printed up for the single run. That’s it. WHY would you pay $76 for something you could have gotten for as low as $40 on sale in the box set!!!?

I got my disc Saturday, after receiving the e-mail on the 5th that it had been shipped.
I was lucky the disc and “case” it comes in werem’t damaged. Pretty flimsy shipping cardboard packaging.
The movie and extras are great. One thing though. My copy has a flaw in the first host segment break. When Crow is telling Joel how to make a Blue Floyd and he says “…two scoops of ice cream…”, the video and audio go black on the word ‘two’; just that one word. Anyone else have that problem?
I doubt I could get another copy and if I did, it could have a worse flaw.

I got my Gila Monster disc today and sure enough, the brief “blip” during the soda shop sketch mentioned by others is there, so either the source material was damaged or some aspect of the transfer to DVD added the flaw so that it appears on every disc produced. Arrgh!
On a high note, the roughly 3-minute bonus sketch is terrific and fun. Great to see the crew back in their costumes and characters.
I was really excited to get my disc today. Came with a bunch of other stuff I ordered so it was on the porch, safe and sound.
I got the “put” black-flash as well. Its really not that bad. Nothing like the unplayable first pressing of Manos.

Got it today! Well I had it already but not it’s a official version. Plus the new scene and interview with Don Sullivan.
Mine arrived yesterday. Watched it last night. Same blip during the “soda shop” sketch, but I can live with it. Some of my old VHS tapes from when I taped the show back in the 90′s have little blips and pops occasionally, which I can usually just ignore.
So, according to the “10.2 upgrade” sketch, we’re supposed to discard or destroy the “Godzilla Vs. Megalon” DVD that came with the original set if we have it? (snicker) Um, yeah, sure. I’ll do that (snicker).
I got mine and LOVED the new sketch. I’m pretty sure that the interview with Don Sullivan is the EXACT same one from “The Rebel Set” dvd.
Here’s why I’m not bitching about the packaging for the Gila Monster dvd- Know in the boxed sets where Rhino puts their little catalog flier thing? I just took an exacto knife, carefully widened the slot and stuck the disc in there, cover and all. It looks great!
I received my copy yesterday. I haven’t had a chance to watch it yet. As for the blip mentioned in the earlier posts…it’s in the copy in the 10.2 boxset. Isn’t this “replacement” disc the same one as in the boxset? Also, last fall I discovered a copy of Vol. 10 still in the inventory for a Fry’s down in CA (I’m in Seattle) and had a friend pick it up for $40!

Thanks those of you who mentioned the glitch in the Soda Shoppe sketch… Not happy to know that Rhino stuck it to us one more time on their way out the door (to make room for Shout! Factory) but at least I know it’s not just my copy or my DVD player.

When the original Star Wars Trilogy first came out on DVD, some guy got a copy a week before the official release date (bcuz he bought it online). He watched it and then put it on eBay.
It ended up selling for a little above $500 (if I remember right – it was WAY too expensive anyway)…even though by the time it was going through shipping, the guy who won it was going to only own it ONE DAY before it hit the stores!
And when someone on a board I was posting at at the time e-mailed the guy who won it to ask him why he did it, the answer was only that “you’re just jealous”….
Who knows why some people with too much money do what they do.
I just keep thinking of the lucky guy who sold the DVD set.

rec’d my “gila” yesterday, and watched it last night – i had forgotten what a great episode that was. enjoyed the new “upgrade” skit, although i found the greenscreen to be pretty cheezy looking. my disc had the same little glitch, but it doesn’t really bug me too much-i’ve sat through much worse to get my mst3k fix! i just stuck the new disc in my old volume 10 box, worked just fine.
personally, i like rhino and have since the days of them releasing old 60′s garage bands on vinyl. a lot of their product (music and dvd) tends to be for things with a “cult following,” which can’t be the most profitable stuff to be putting out. i really couldn’t understand all of the bitching and moaning about them and the wait for this disc. imho, rhino did us all a big solid by selling us the single disc. btw, since this is no longer a going concern for them, anyone who hasn’t picked up all of their mst3k releases might want to get on that…they might let this stuff quietly go out of print.
for all of the loud “huzzahs” i’ve been hearing here for shout! factory taking over, i find it a bit curious that they haven’t scheduled any releases yet…makes me wonder. i’ve enjoyed many things they’ve put out, although i was disappointed that they never put out the final season of SCTV. they really dropped the ball there.

The E-bay seller got what he deserved if he ends up having to cancel the sale. That’s what he gets for trying to shaft people.

My thoughts exactly. I doubt the seller has one (or any). I say any, because it appears there is another one on there now from the same guy. Also – two other auctions cropped up earlier today when I checked – both with ridiculous “Buy it Now” prices. This disc alone appears to be on its way to fetching what original Vol. 10 box sets fetch easily – at least $75.
Incidentally, the disc in that first auction didn’t go for $100 or more like I thought it might, but anything more than the price of a 10.2 box set is too much, frankly. A specially made cardboard sleeve for a single disc release isn’t worth that kind of money, high-quality printing or not.
But as was stated above, hey, it’s their money. Personally, I’ll wait on a second pressing, since I got the shaft by Rhino on my order for reasons they weren’t kind enough to understand and work with me on. If there isn’t another run, I’ll dupe it. Case closed. They can’t expect people that already own 75% of the same product to buy it all over again for one disc. Hence, the single disc was offered. Then, they poorly handle the impending demand and the customer service on that end. Hooray for Rhino indeed.

I got my Gila disk today too! I’m happy to have it, but amazed at how cheaply it was packaged. Both the disc sleeve and the mailer. I’m just glad mine came through intact.
Now, has any enterprising graphics guru taken the sleeve artwork and produced an insert for standard or slim DVD cases?

I have to say, I’m really digging the anticipation surrounding MST3K projects. After a decade of close to nothing, now I’m waiting for announcements from Shout! Factory and Cinematic Titanic…..
I just called Rhino and they said their products shipped from South Florida… They also said wait until the week of the 17th (the 20th) to inquire about replacements/credits.
They also count Saturdays as business days.
Hope that helps everyone in my proverbial boat.

Huzzah! The Giant Gila monster is mine! Turned up today in LA, so hopefully other SoCal MiSTies are getting theirs as well. Could have done without the sticker on the actual packaging, but hey, I’m just glad this turned up.

Mouka: as far as I can recall, the only sticker on mine was on the shrink-wrap plastic around the cardboard sleeve the disc came in.

Mine came a couple of days ago. No stickers for me, but I did get a “Heavy Metal” CD box set postcard (woohoo!).
I unsealed the plastic to make sure the disc was there, but I’m actually afraid to take it out of the cardbox sleeve. To give me something to look forward to I’m purposely delaying gratification until the weekend to watch it the way I like it: with cocktails. But I doubt I can fend off the curiosity to at least see the new skit before then.
Man, I’m glad I picked up the rest of the MST3k sets I didn’t have. Ebay buyers can be real idiots. Well, some of the sellers are dicks too.

THIS DISK IS IN MY FIRE PROOF BOX!!!!!!! HA!!!

The DVD arrived very promptly, as usual from Rhino. The menu screen is probably one of the most elaborate Rhino has ever done for MST3K. I do not know anything about the new company that will be handling MST3K DVDs, but they have their work cut out for them. Rhino has always done such a great job with MST3K. If the new company does half as well, I will be surprised.
So long, Rhino, and thanks for two great decades of MST3K DVDs.
