Mike is a Christian, but I want to know more about how Christian he is. I always feel strange when I use rifftrax or mystery science theater because it is never completely clear how Christian he is. Interviews like this need to focus on his politics and religion so that we know how right standing he is with the Lord. I almost got rid of my MST collection because Mike did that rifftrax with Dougie Howser guy who is a homosexual. If he is working with him on a project, I fear Mike might not be as with the Lord as I would like. There are true Christians and Hollywood Christians. I pray all the time that Mike is not a Hollywood Christian. If it is true, my fan days are over. Please encourage him to talk about his beliefs and politics so we are clear about them.

Kevin, you need to do some soul searching. God is real, and if you do not get right with God, it will end in terror. I want my MST God approved. If God thinks that it is wrong, I will no longer participate, and I will ask for forgiveness in the blood of Christ.
Well, Mike is very smart and very well read, so I doubt he would categorize his faith under such black and white terms.
John: Jesus dined with sinners and Mike did Rifftrax with a gay man. I myself am a very active Christian and while Mst3k isn’t Veggie Tales, I find it’s one of the most innocent shows I’ve watched. If you like Mst3k, then enjoy it with us, brother!
Incidently, have you watched the first few minutes of the movie in show #512 when the movie quotes “The Lord be with you” to which Tom responds “And also with you.”? Fake Christians don’t know the Great Thanksgiving by heart.

John: Could Mike not have been taking an opportunity to minister to Neil Patrick Harris when they did the RiffTrax together? Avoiding those in need of salvation is not very Christian at all. If you are a true devout Christian you should know this and understand we must go and seek those that need Christ the most. Do not dispel MST3K and Mike because he sat in a room with a homosexual but entertain the thought that he may have used that time to try and show Neil the error of his ways in the eyes of God.

I agree with Who Knows? and GizmonicTemp. I’m also a Christian and I think we should follow Christ’s example. He Himself spent more time with those shunned by the religious leaders of the time than the religious leaders themselves. Plus, His instruction to us is to love ALL our neighbors.
There are so few Christian comedians out there that I applaud Mike for representing. :smile:
And getting back to the original topic, that was a great interview!
Oh for crying out loud! John, whoever you are, it’s because of fanatics like you that the Christian religion is always under fire by people outside the Christian faith!
Jesus taught us to “Love thy neighbor” so I see no problem with Mike socializing with a gay man. If said homosexual was trying to make a pass at Mike, then I would object (seeing as how Mike is married to a woman, namely Bridget Jones), but that aside, there is no prolem with socializing with people outisde your religion, ethnic group, creed, or even sexual prefrences. What is wong is to unfairly judge someone because of your beliefs.
Your fear of something is what the Devil wants, not God or Jesus. Either grow a pai and learn from what everyone here has told you or get off the internet.

As Christian, I couldn’t give a rat’s a** if everyone on MST were atheists (you know, worshiping the flying spaghetti monster).
People like the above John (if that is real name) really burns my bananas. Live and let live, Jesus said that kind of thing a lot. As in: Don’t look at the splinter in your brother’s eye when you got a plank in yours; those without sin can cast the first stone… so on and so forth.
