Former Minneapolis Star-Tribune columnist, current Minneapolis Star-Tribune Web guy and the proprietor of what is probably the greatest, funniest, weirdest Web site ever (YMMV), James Lileks, bleated today: “…I will be doing a super-secret project with Mike Nelson of MST3K fame…”
Could this mean he will be a Rifftrax guest riffer?? This is something that fans of both Rifftrax and Lileks (such as yours truly) have been pushing for since they became aware that Mike and James are pals. James, a former radio host for a number of years (who still does a great weekly podcast), is ridiculously smooth in front of the microphone and has a great ear for comedy. He should drop into a Rifftrax slot like a hand in a perfectly fitting glove, he should. Here’s hoping!

Lileks is incredibly funny, but his conservative politics drove me away from his blog. (It was quite a surprise to find that someone whose sense of humor matched mine so perfectly could have opinions in another area so dramatically different from mine.) As long as he and Mike save their Bush-lovin’ till after the episode, I’m definitely in.
Mike the the MST crew have always been good with the political stuff, dont worry. Like bit from both sides and never nasty.
Lileks needs to update his site, especially the “Gallery of Regrettable Food.”
