Cool read! Though, once again, people still think that Sandy Frank has rights to the Gamera/Japanese TV shows used on MST3k (when he hasn’t for awhile).

Trais- who does? Cause I would sure like a Shout Factory copy of Fugitive Alien I and II.

They are with the original Japanese rights holders.

Brian Ward from Shout Factory said: I can tell you to take Gamera out of any foreseeable lists. We’ve tried and tried, but the Japanese really take their man-in-suit pictures seriously. It doesn’t look they want anyone poking fun and, sadly, that means that episode may never see the light of DVD laser.

Not sure if this applies to the Tsuburaya Productions TV series (Fugitive Alien, Mighty Jack and Time of the Apes), but it very likely does.

this is thing, it is probably just me, but I really like the MST3k Hamlet. Maybe because I know the play so well.

I’m sorry that spoiled it for other ‘heavier’ fare.

This was a nice interview. I think the MST3k group split that Kevin speaks about is borne out in the current work. CT strikes me as an art house-type production, while RT has a broader, Midwestern appeal.

Great interview. And Kevin finally ‘fesses up to his prog-rock loving past. I always suspected he was responsible for the numerous Yes & ELP riffs. Bobo’s frequent singing of Asia songs was a dead giveaway.
