Four great episodes! I’m glad there are two Joel episodes with neither of them being from Season One. And happy they’re finally releasing the third Coleman Francis episode on DVD!!!

It would be great to get a Coleman Francis retrospective as an extra.

Sweet. Includes the first episode I ever saw (“Lost Continent”). Now all we need to know is when this will be released.

    JACK-EFFING-FROST!!!!
Too cool. I was thinking a couple of days ago that Shout! usually tries to announce the new titles close to a release. Thanks again Shout!, you guys are great.

“Jack Frost” is one of my and my wife’s favorites… can’t wait to see the mini-poster for that one!!

Day-ummmm! I’m not sure whether Shout Factory is totally awesome, or I’m just easy to please. :) But ‘Jack Frost’ and ‘Crash of the Moons’ are old favorites, ‘Lost Continent’ is one I’ve only seen once and will enjoy seeing again, and ‘Beast of Yucca Flats’ is one I’ve salivated over for a long time.

    Jack Frost-Amazing, a top 10 for me.

Beast-fun, some great lines. Every time I watch the NFL, “Flag on the field…how did it get there?”

    Lost Continent-among the worst

Crash of the Moons-in the bottom 5 for me; the General Hospital shorts have to be some of the dullest things the Brains ever made too.

So a mixed bag for me, per usual. Also, it probably precludes the old dream of a Finno-Russian set.

This does lead to the frightening prospect of some
people being tempted by the VERY Dark Side to have a
Coleman Francis marathon. Perhaps a more frightening
prospect then watching Peter Jackson’s LoTR trilogy
    (especially the last two :x ) back-to-back-to-back.

This may be the best set yet as far as all four episodes being ones I really, REALLY WANTED BADLY on DVD release. Finally a Lippert movie from Season Two and one of the best ones! Lost Continent generated so many iconic moments and lines that became near permanent parts of the show for years to come. “Rock climbing, Joel!” It’s one of those flagship episodes that helped establish the show in the minds of the fans. And I can’t say anything bad about the other selections either. Rocky Jones is great stuff and I’m glad to have both episodes now on commercial DVD. Beast Of Yucca Flats and Jack Frost are two of the best episodes from the post-Joel era with greatly amusing movies and some of the best writing by the show’s staff. Shout! Factory, this set is a grand slam, thanks!

  23. Okay set, I guess. Never seen Crash of the Moons, amazingly. Progress Island is the funniest short not on a shorts collection (unless it was on the one I didn’t see). Lost Continent is actually pretty funny. I would think they would have put the Russo-Finnish films in one set, since the rights aren’t an issue, but I guess this squashes that prospect unless they do it on blu-ray someday.

Terrific set minus the Sci-Fi Channel one, but still!! Crash of the Moons and The Beast of Yucca Flats are great episodes.

“Crash of the Moons” was the first MST3K episode I ever saw, and it hooked me immediately. I’ll be glad to finally own it on DVD.

I’m pumped about Money Talks finally being on an official release. It is one of the most criminally ignored shorts and one of my favorites “don’t smart mouth me boy”. Progress Island is another keeper “Alright we’ll move there!”

YES !!! A Lippert Title !! I dont believe what I just saw
I have wanted a Lippert episode like forever ..and I just love this episode !! Its not that bad of a movie except for the endless rock climbing sequence
If youve never seen it , its a popcorn film with an all star male cast (the women have small roles) dinosaurs in scenes tinted in Sepia ! Its low budget..I love this episode…this alone made the set for me
Crash of the Moons – finally the other Rocky Jones title has made it and its better than Manhunt in Space..well at least to me
Beast of Yucca Flats – the other Coleman Francis title is here…great episode with 2 shorts..this is every bit as bad as Red Zone Cuba..it makes Plan 9 look like Larry of Arabia
Jack Frost is the big one here…finally a Russo/Finish title – another mega popular Mike episode..
    GREAT SET !

    Also, credit where it’s due:

I LOVE the format of 2 Joel episodes (POST-Season 1), 1 Mike CC episode and 1 Mike Sci Fi episode.

    It’s perfect.

Shout Factory, I sing your praises!

Now that we have Lost Continent and oodles of rock climbing, I hope this means that Shout! Factory will be releasing the other three Lippert movies from Season Two: Rocketship X-M, King Dinosaur and Jungle Goddess. The four Lippert episodes from Season Two have always been among my absolute favorites and I still think they represent some of the best, most creative and funniest work ever done on MST3K.

I am so hella stoked over this set! I remember the first time I watched Beast of Yucca Flats and feeling physically angry but I can not figure out why. Now I’ll get to relive the experience. Red Zone Cuba is one of my fav’s so I’m thinking a Colemen Francis Trilogy viewing will be in my future…Mike summed it up best about his movies: “It smells like Colemen Francis in here”

I am so happy that Lost Continent made the cut!! Plus Crash of the Moons! You’ve got my money right there!!

I can’t stand Coleman Francis, but hey, at least we won’t see any more of those.

and the girl from Jack Frost was excruciatingly cute, that’s all I remember.

KEEP THE TWO JOELS (not from Season 1) COMING AND I WILL BUY EVERY LAST ONE!!!!!!!!

I’d like season 1 episodes to keep coming, but one every other release would be nice. I want those episodes, but I have to admit that they are always the last one I watch when I get any new set.

For a while, seemed like they were anally trying to go through EVERY S1 episode that would’ve showed Commando Cody in order, which would’ve meant Robot Monster next.
We can raise hopes for XIX, but so long as they keep being responsible about getting the early days swept up.
