The Rudolph short is the hardest and longest I have ever seen a group of people laugh in my life.

I don’t care how cheap they sell individual download-able shorts for, as long as they also put them out in these DVD compilations, I’m sending in my cash! I’ll take a real silvery platter over a filename on a computer ANY DAY!

Thanks, RiffTrax, for providing real DVDs. I bought every one released so far, and I’ll buy every new one that comes out!

ORDERED! Can’t wait to see this, since I missed it when it played in theaters! Cinematic Titanic and Rifftrax both work so much better Live with audiences…

    Keep ’em coming!

Saw this in a local theater back in December and it was hilarious. Some of the best work Rifftrax has done. Every MSTie should see this. I will definitely be buying this DVD. The whole show was great, but it would be worth buying this just for the Dingalings toy commercial and the Rudolph cartoon alone.

Oh, man…they could have at least waited for July to release this!!!!! ;-)

What a great show it was…like Bat Masterson says, the longest you’ve ever seen people laugh–well, except when I saw the mirror scene from Duck Soup in the theater. But hey….

Definitely worth buying, if only for the Rudolph moment. And there’s the earlier cameo by Prince of Space.

The Rudolph bit is definitely worth it. If you didn’t get to see it in the theatre, order now! I’m looking forward to its arrival.

I got some of the shorts online already, but I think when I have enough money next month, I’m getting this anyway. It’s worth it for the reaction to the “Rudolph, I need you tonight” thing (I was at one of other theaters during the live performance; it was awesome). And there are a few shorts I didn’t get online. Plus, “Weird Al”!
Mr B(ob) (#7): OMG, that toy commercial! I totally forgot about that! Something else to look forward to! [looks at calender] Why isn’t it April yet?

Hmmm…anyone think the vomit thing at the end went on too long? I might fast forward over that. Though Kevin looked hot!

@ #11: Everyone I have told about that Dingalings commercial has laughed just from my description without ever having seen it. That thing had real comedic value and I think Rifftrax showed some great comedy smarts simply in choosing it for the show. It fit in well and was a nice break from the more strictly holiday themed shorts. Dingalings and the other non-strictly seasonal shorts nicely prevented monotony from setting in and dampening the show.

I imagine I’ll pick this up, but I’m in no hurry. It’s not like I’ll be in the mood to watch it right away.

Downloaded & burned it yesterday for watching tonight!

(Had a little trouble with the download but Erik @ Rifftrax was incredibly helpful.)

It’s amazing how flat the “studio” versions of the shorts are by comparison. I eagerly bought all the 99 cent versions of the shorts as they came out after the live show, but while they were amusing, none had me laughing until I hurt like the live show did.

So last night I put on the DVD just to check that it burned properly, and within 3 minutes I was laughing as hard as I was at the theater back in December!

There really is magic in a good live performance!

I wasn’t expecting this until Christmas time so it’s a nice surprise. I will probably get it eventually, but cash is tight right now and I have all the shorts. The live show was better than the VOD shorts are though, so I must get it soon.

A little disappointed in this DVD from Rifftrax. When I saw this in the theater I thought the sound was bad being the theaters fault. Now I found it was broadcast this way. The muffled echoy voices are only a little more understandable with the volume low. Was there no way of cleaning up the sound problem for the dvd? Also why was the ending skit with Kevin dressed in fishnets not included? I love Rifftrax, but this was more of a RIPPTRAX!

Have to agree with #20. I was eagerly awaiting this one, had never seen it before, etc., but now I am finding the sound very muffled. I can barely make out some of the riffs, let alone the films themselves. I have heard people complain on these forums about the CT LIVE dvds, but I never had this problem with them.

Fun, but I kind of wonder why they needed to resort to two non-Christmas pieces (“Three Magic Words” and the Aquatic thing). Surely there were more Christmas shorts to be had. Oh well.

I think they missed a lot of riff potential in “Three Magic Words” (maybe Weird Al threw them off their game). Why are the butchers dressed like Inspector Gadget? Did they strike no one else as “sort of a more efficient Three Stooges”? Who the heck has the last name “Newlywed”? How does someone get through life without knowing that pork, beef, and lamb are entirely different kinds of meat? And on, and on.

Plus, okay, Mrs. Newlywed goes to the three butchers because her husband is bringing home three men who bet she couldn’t prepare a good meal…but those the butchers ARE THEMSELVES those three men? Why didn’t they, as the butchers, tell her something like “Oh, don’t worry, just fix celery sandwiches, it’ll be fine,” and then, as the guests, collect on their bet? Was it all just some sort of mind game? Hard not to wonder which year this was made in, and what it says about that year…
