The Episodes on Volume XIX Will Be…

The episodes that will be included in MST3K Volume XIX from Shout!Factory will be:
episode 107- ROBOT MONSTER (with shorts: COMMANDO CODY Parts 4 and 5)
episode 423- BRIDE OF THE MONSTER (with short: HIRED!, Part 1)
episode 818- DEVIL DOLL, and
episode 911- DEVIL FISH

Yes, it’s monsters and devils. Also, a special edition of this release will include a Gypsy figurine that will be in proportion to the Servo and Crow figurines. (Awesome.)

Will the set come filled with sawdust? Will the MST globe still go over the guy’s area in Devil Fish? Will I be “hired” before I see hired part one? Will I be the hu-man? Will this be the last set released this year? Stay tuned.

I think we’ll see Project Moonbase on the next set myself
When I saw Devil Fish as 911…not to sound morbid but it made me remember the World Trade Center …being my original hometown I still remember that day..
And 911 is a close friends birthday too
Anyway its a great set overall :)

Robot Monster and Bride of the Monster in one set? Two great monsters that go even better together! I’m really looking forward to owning this one.

One thing I like about these sets is that it gives me a chance to see episodes I missed the first time around. Looking forward to checking out Robot Monster and Bride of the Monster.

I think Robot Monster is weak and I like Season 1 more than most people. Otherwise, I am OK with the set. Not like OMG Outlaw! or ZOMG Day the Earth Froze, but still reasonably happy, plus get the Gyps to go with the guy Bots.

    Gyspy figure = fantastic

Thrilled that Bride of the Monster is being released. It’s long been one of my all-time favorites.

Always appreciate when they give even time to Joel and Mike.

Now, if I may be the Comic Book Guy and nitpick: I prefer 2 Joel eps from Seasons 2-5, 1 CC Mike ep and 1 Sci Fi Mike ep. I really just don’t enjoy Season 1 episodes. And I love Mike’s CC era.

Finally, because I will do this every time titles are announced until it happens….

PLEASE RELEASE MASTER NINJA 1 AND MASTER NINJA II!!!!!!! I swear to you, Shout Factory, I’ll buy 2 copies if you do.

Another great set. Of course I’m as thrilled as the rest at BRIDE OF THE MONSTER, and DEVIL DOLL is a hugely underrated episode. And Gypsy was always my favorite character!

  13. losingmydignity says:

So, yeah, cool, this is kind of the first set with a kind of theme (    )at least in titles.

Now, understand I’m happy when they release anything…and I want everything released but just judging this as a set on its own…it’s probably the weakest one ever. Robot Monster is one of the better season ones, I’ll grant that. But I’ve never cared a lot for Bride of the Monster and Devil Fish is just an average ep. Devil Doll is the standout but not super high on my list of favorites. This may be the first set ever without an ep from my top 40 in it, so I hope the folks at Shout call me soon and we can get this straightened out.

As for Gypsy: in proportion to the other figurines or in proportion to how she compared in size to them on the show> If the latter she will be quite big.

Let us all enjoy and rejoice…

Yea!! AS a DVD extra why not include Hired Part two with Hired part one. So we can watch both parts without switching disks.

Hmmmm…I’ve never paid $60 for a MST3K DVD set, even when I recently purchased Vol. 8 in near-perfect condition from ebay. I got XVIII on Tuesday from Amazon for $39.99. You guys complaining about the high price of the sets live in Taiwan or something?

Personally, if Shout! decides to produce another box set with a figure, I’d like them to make a miniature SOL. That’d be nice to have dangling from my rear view mirror!

That is so nice of you! I’ll send some karma to you in advance.

This set is amazing. 2 Joel, 2 Mike, 1 Gypsy, you can’t go wrong! Regarding the size of Gypsy I hope she’s HUGE :)
I love both Robot Monster and Devil Fish, so this will be a great addition to all other sets. Devil Doll, well, dolls always creeped me out so this episode kind of bugs me. I’ll watch it though, but with comforting friends and family nearby. Bride of the Monster, I think I’ll watch this in a row with the other Tor movies. It’ll be a night to remember!

“PLEASE RELEASE MASTER NINJA 1 AND MASTER NINJA II!!!!!!! I swear to you, Shout Factory, I’ll buy 2 copies if you do.”

Unfortunetly, it looks like those were considered in the “unlikely” section on Travis’ likelihood list. Infact, so far it looks like none of those “TV Movie episodes” have not been released on dvd, and sadly might not. Who knows (correct me if I’m wrong, though).

But for my opinion, if Shout! could get the rights from Universal (which I, personally, don’t see happening), then that would really open the door to alot of episodes. I’d LOVE to have a HQ copy of 615 – Kitten with a Whip.

    @ MitchellRowsdowerBeardsley (#24)

No hate, but gotta ask…..where are buying these sets that you’re paying $60??? I think the last few I’ve pre-order (thru this site btw) from Amazon we posted around $45 or something. By the time it ships, the price usually drops below $40.

As far as an extra on a future set….how about getting the CT crew together to riff through the final episodes of “Commander Cody” (I think there were two left) just so we have the complete serial riffed???

Wow! Found out yesterday at comic con. Looking forward to this one. Robots, Monsters, and Devils, sounds interesting ;-) Sad there is

    @77
Travis Hoseys list on Satellite News is out of date and the only up to date is at the mst3k discussion board. On the discusssion board list, Master Ninja 1 and 2 have a not likely, but Shout could possibly surprise us and release it on a box set if CBS would them the rights.

  31. Alex says:

    @ 80

Well, CBS IS a big company (at least from my understanding), so they may or may not license their material to Shout. I guess ya never know. But if they do, I would like to have both of those posters with Crow and Servo as ninjas.

Hey SF no complaint here but how about releasing this before Thanksgiving (way before if possible). My brother-in-law from Wisconsin loves to sneak away with me to watch and it’s always great to have episodes that have just come out and not been watched too many times. Keep up the great work.

While it’s not my optimal set of episodes, I am at the point where I am just super excited every time they announce that there WILL BE a new volume. That begs the questions, “What is the worse possible set of episodes they could release?” And let’s be a litte more creative than “all season 1 episodes”.

  34. Mr. B(ob) says:

That question is off topic. This topic is about Volume XIX. And besides, all Season One episodes would be a great set for me.

  35. Alex says:

    @ 83

    Here are my possibilities…

K05 – Gamera (of course, I know that ain’t gonna happen, and not just because it’s a KTMA episode)
209 – The Hellcats (I’ve heard this was kind of considered to be a weak episode)
323 – The Castle of Fu Manchu (same deal as 209)
704 – The Incredble Melting Man (I’ve heard alot of people didn’t like this episode because the movie was gross)

    That’s just my opinion.

  36. Mr. B(ob) says:

First, that’s off topic. Second, Hellcats was already released by Rhino. Third, I happen to love the Hellcats episode.

Now how about sticking with the Volume XIX topic?

  37. Alex says:

    @ 86

I’m sorry, but I posted this about the same time you posted your post about that being off-topic. No need to get all worked up on me… :|

And I apologize for going off-topic again, but I know Hellcats was already released by Rhino, but technically the episode is no longer available on Rhino.com nor Mst3k.com, so it’s pretty much no longer commercially available. And I like the episode too, I’ve just heard alot of fans weren’t too keen with it.

Now we shall get back to Volume 19.

So anyway, when’s the news that this will be released? It’d be pretty epic if it was released the same day as Halloween (10/31/10).

The riff in Robot Monster over The Boy In The Plastic Bubble Seems quite pertinent all of a sudden.

“That’s the kid’s disease; he grows up to be John Travolta.”
    “Oh, that’s so sad…”

Season 1 is where I came into it, and is still a big comfort zone for me with a lot of fond memories, so having basically one of the “biggest” names in bad movies of the B-movie era on MST DVD is beautiful to me. Joel’s stirring recital of Alice Cooper lyrics, the bots role-playing Ro-Man… Oh, I’m looking forward to this.

Like a doof I lost a good chunk of Devil Doll on my old tape by accidentally hitting Record. Lost about 10 minutes. So this makes me happy indeed.

#80 – We havent seen any TV movies pop up on any set (well Angels Revenge is one I guess)
I also seem to recall my Devil Doll on VHS was missing something as well. My Bride of the Monster VHS was getting pretty bad too. All in all to have titles going to DVD format is all good with me

  42. ck says:

Good question about 4 worst to release, would be a good topic
for all MST3000 movies(including already rleased) to be in a theoretical
boxed set. One nominee would have to be one I just rewatched:
The Starfighters. Impossible to get through without riffing
and skits. It’s sort of like a plotless Caine Mutiny, in that
the Navy in TCM obviously cooperated and got favorable coverage
in that movie like the Air Force presumably hoped for in TS.

Wow, since this is such an important issue – let me clarify, I bought vol 18 from amazon for $40.00. Yes, I don’t live in Taiwan, but thanks for the sarcasm. Isn’t 60 bucks the MSRP? Crown me a fool. Let me rephrase: I don’t want to spend 40 bucks for one good Joel ep.

and Hellcats is a weak episode? I’m on the wrong planet, I think.
