Holy crap! YES! I am so sad I had to miss Comic*Con, but I am going to Dragon*Con. I can’t wait to see them! This news made my day! :-D

I am overjoyed beyond words at such news!

I know this isn’t really the place to ask, but as an old person (who has never attended a “con” other than a business convention :>) can anyone tell me what day(s) would be the best to go?

I don’t think my wife and I could stand four days but there are some folks there I’d love to meet and I’m wondering:

    1) IF they will be there all four days?
    and
    2) IS there a “better” day to try and see them?

    TIA for any help.

If they could just get a little closer to Connecticut, I’d be SO happy. (Not driving that far, gas costing what it does).

Mike, there is no way to know what days they’ll be there until a schedule is put up. I’ll guess that Saturday would be likely, and Monday a lot less likely (since Monday is only a half day). But if you really want to see them, wait and find out. Also be prepared to wait in line to see them for an hour or two before hand.

Alas they announced this *after* the preregistration period was over (7/15) so it’s now $90 for a weekend pass instead of $50. I’m going to call them tomorrow and see if there isn’t something we can work out with such a huge guest announcement this close to the con. Maybe they can cut us some slack. Barring that I’ll ask if there’s any kind of group rates. Maybe the folks here and down in RATMM and the contacts I have can purchase some tickets that way if nothing else.

Aw man! In about a month I’ll be in the same state as Joel Trace and Frank! :p

I’ve never been to a con either. It takes 2 hours to get to Joel Trace and Frank? Can I bring my karaoke machine to enjoy during the wait?

    John Seavey says:

I’m almost always in the same state as Trace, Joel and Frank, but we never seem to bump into each other. :)

And good luck, Aron, but I doubt they’ll see it your way, because I suspect that DragonCon doesn’t see this as a “huge guest announcement”. They haven’t even put it up on their front page, it’s stuck in the full guest list they link to from the main page. Which just shows that they have a radically different view of what constitutes a “big name” from Yours Truly, but it’d be a boring old world if we all thought the same, right?

Clearly we need to resurrect the Expofestarama. Maybe set it up on a circuit… 4 smallish shows : NY, Chi, LA or SF, someplace in Texas.

    Oh, and Minnesota.

Holy crap. My husband and I go to Archon every year cause it’s a great party con.

There’s rarely any good guests (George Takai a couple years ago–that’s the best we’ve seen…).

I peed a little when I saw the whole CT cast will be there. Oh my the excitement.

Sorry to double post, but the link to the Arch 32 is down. Even the main website seems down for me.

No MST3K for me this year I guess. Lets hope for Comic Con next year.

Yeah now they’ll be in Atlanta that’s a 4 hour drive from Kingsport. That I might be able to make.
