Reminder: Darkstar Now Available

Just a reminder for those who missed it — DARKSTAR: The Interactive Movie is now available at darkstarstore.com. The retail price is $29.95.

You can also buy the soundtrack to Darkstar for $19.95 from darkstarstore.com, or as MP3 downloads for $17.98 from Amazon.com.

Special note: The downloadable version of the game hasn’t yet been made available online, so producer J. Allen Williams is offering this special deal: Order the boxed version of the game from darkstarstore.com, then email him via the site and identify yourself as a reader of our site. He will throw in free glossies with your order. This offer is only available until the downloadable game becomes available from Strategy First.

Man, for 75 bucks you can also get a tshirt, autograph of your choice, the soundtrack, a pdf guide, and a coffee table book.

I may have to get this just to brag that I’ve actually played it.

Why can’t I find the digital download? That Strategy First site is not helpful. Can’t find it anywhere.

    Hi Laura,
Strategy First is feverishly wrapping up the special build they have to do in order to sell DARKSTAR. When it’s up, they have promised to sell it to fans for 25% off for their wait. They are also in the midst of an entire rebuild of their site, so those Canadians are sweating bullets right now. I just hung up the phone with Bob Eaglesham at SF and he says the build is working flawlessly and they should have it up pretty soon. If you get tired of waiting, go to the darkstarstore and order. After you do, email me through the site and let me know you ordered via the mst3kinfo site here and We’ll throw in some glossies free and rush it out to you. This offer is good until Strategy First gets their stuff all fixed. J. Allen Williams

I hate to sound so uninformed but what does this have to do with MST?

  8. Erhardt says:

    me,

You’re not really uninformed. Darkstar has been so long in the making that not everyone is familiar with it. The tie-in is that the game features former MST3K staffers Beez McKeever, Trace Beaulieu, Frank Conniff, Joel Hodgson, Mary Jo Pehl and J. Elvis Weinstein. And it’s narrated by frequently-riffed actor Peter Graves, in his last major project before his death.

Does anyone actually have a copy of this game/movie yet? If so, can you provide a review?

How can I tell if my computer can play this game? I see the requirements (Memory: 2 GB RAM, Hard Disk Space: 14 GB), but my free space is only 5 gigs. I really want to make sure I can play this, because I wdon’t want to happen like when I pickied up Transformers:WFC (mainly not enough memory).

I’m not a gamer, so I hope the video clips will end up on youtube. Actually, since it’s essentially an FMV game, I really wish Spoony would review it.

Just ordered my copy and emailed (via website) about the glossies. Not 10 minutes later J. Allen emailed me back to say thanks and let me know they will be included and it will ship tomorrow. What a great guy!

Decided to make this the one gift I allow myself for Christmas this year. I’ll be damned if I’m waiting until Christmas to open it, though…
