Ballyhoo Motion Pictures Gift Sets

Another holiday gift option for the MSTie on your list:

Our pal Daniel Griffith of Ballyhoo Pictures, the guy who made several of those awesome extras on the recent Shout! Factory sets, has set up an ebay store to sell holiday gift sets he’s assembled, including collections aimed specifically at MST3K fans. Take a look.

Yes, yes, “awesome extras” are all very well, but when are we going to get the KGM documentary on disk (or even cheap-indie Instant Netflix)?
I’d even settle for a gift set of Weird Mexican Fairytale Movies, with a commentary on “Little Red Riding Hood Vs. the Monsters”. :)

The Ballyhoo extras on the MST3K DVD sets have been pretty terrific. Well done, Ballyhoo.

The previous post about Frank on MSNBC that link is not to his appearance. No politics I promise!

@ #3: Yes it is. I watched it through that link even though I also saw part of it last night on TV. The link worked fine for me. There’s an advert that runs before the Frank video though. I just checked it again and it’s still working.

    @Lance

Did you try a different browser? I had to use FireFox for that reason. My IE had everything blocked because of my Super Ad Blocker program.

That Robot vs. The Aztec Mummy T-shirt is very awesome but is there any way to get it in a smaller size?

If there are no new DVDs of MST they will not be getting in my pocket. Nothing says
    “I’m Single” like a Tor t-shirt.

  8. Hey Charles… I do have a few ROBOT shirts in both SMALL AND MEDIUM. Would those work? And for twitterhitter, it’s all in good fun! I haven’t been ‘single’ more than maybe a month in my entire adult life… and I have a replica of the fertility idol from RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK and a collection of DARK SHADOWS/TWILIGHT ZONE bobble heads in my living room right now (not boasting about the girlfriend bit by the way, just proving my point). Besides, they are TOR buttons… not T-shirts. :)

Daniel’s extras on the recent MST DVDs have been the best made and most informative extras of not only all MST releases but they trump what passes for extras on most major film releases. I was saddened to see the delay of his Gordon Murray (Santa Claus director) doc which was supposed to be on TCM on Dec. 10th. I hope it gets shown sometime in the near future.

I purchased a couple of the Santa Claus gift sets he offered last year and they were filled with top notch goodies that delighted the friend I gave one to (the other one was for me!). I’ll be picking up a couple of these as gifts for some other friends this year.

Many thanks to Daniel, please keep up the great work. We need people like you to take the history of our MST-ed and non-MST-ed cult films (semi)seriously and help us preserve some of the history and lore around them.

LOL!! Made my day!! You win.

  11. WOW! Thanks, Nightly MST3K! I very happy that you (and your friend) enjoyed the gift sets last year! I personally think it’s amusing to see promotional materials for movies such as YUCCA FLATS or SANTA CLAUS. That’s the main reason I design/put them together. Just think of all the modern ‘thow-away’ productions that have T-shirts and action figures!

I do agree with you regarding the lack of bonus features these days. Bonus features don’t get much attention, anymore.

T-shirts with “psychotronic” movie posters on them are the best. My wife actually found a Robot Monster movie poster T-shirt several years ago. We love that kind of stuff.

not to brag, but my girlfriend is constantly wearing my weird movie shirts. There’s nothing like seeing your old They Live, Motel Hell or night of the Creeps T-Shirt stretched over a nice set of boobs.

nice gift sets, Daniel, obviously- like the featurettes- put together by someone who gives a crap about this stuff.
