How depressing for Marvin. A brain the size of a planet and
    Astro Boy is ranked higher.

Bender reply: Yeah, smart boy. You can kiss my shiny metal ass.
    I’m Bender. I’m Bender.

Once again, Gypsy and Cambot are left out. Remember when TechTV (The Screen Savers?) also did a list, with Tom and Crow, IIRC as #1?

    What, no C-3PO?

So, KITT makes the list, but Gort does not. And if we are including cyborgs, what about Steve Austin (the Six Million Dollar Man, not the wrestler)?

Right about now Gort would slowly walk out, lift his visor and vaporise Josh Jackson. I think this list suffers from too many genres. It would have been better if he had lists like: actual real working robots, fictional but 3 dimentional representations and fictional art [two dimentions]

While I’m at it, why not include the Sony Aibo rather than listing essentially the same vacuum cleaner twice?
Big61al is right, too many genres.

Um…his listing says that Frank Conniff voiced Tom Servo at some point.

    Did I miss something?

#8 I think Frank voiced Tom in the extra feature video on The Giant Gila Monster disk.

Operation Weasel-Snitch #5 – The author stated that he left out androids that were previously human (7 of 9 & Robocop for example).

I can’t believe he left out Gort OR C-3P0.

But I can’t believe he lumped Tom and Crow together.
    This is like twins.
Don’t they EVER get individual recognition?

Of course he also left off Rhoda (real name was AF709) from “My Living Doll,” but that was before this kid’s time so I see that one (and so should you).

And you have room for “Gerty” from Moon, but you leave out “Robbie” from Forbidden Planet?

This list was made by a youngling.

I never noticed before how much Joel looks like Mike (in the picture).

I’m disappointed that my favorite robot, Scud The Disposable Assassin, did not make the list.

    @ #10: “I can’t believe he left out Gort OR C-3P0.”

It certainly doesn’t feel right to see certain classic robots left off a list like that, be it Gort, Robbie from Forbidden Planet, etc., or in this case to separate R2D2 from C3PO, but to the credit of the person making the list they did include a lot of good classic stuff, like Asimov’s original I, Robot stories, Metropolis, etc. and a bunch of more modern ones, many of them comedic like Crow and Tom and Bender from Futurama.

    Melanie Griffith wasn’t the robot.

Despite the inclusion of Tom and Crow, the list is actually kinda dumb. Their criteria seemed completely random. And no Kryten?

Yep. You’re right. Pamela Gidley was the android.
Still, she was a lot more interesting then some
that made that list. Although Bender does seem to
have a thing for the lady bots (including
    shipboard computers).

  19. #9 Pretty sure that was Josh Weinstein voicing Tom in that segment.
