Art Batanides LOS ANGELES--Art Batanides, the tough-looking, tough-talking actor whose TV and movie career spanned four decades, died Jan. 10, 2000, of natural causes at his home here. He was 77. MSTies will remember him as fast-talking mental patient Danny Green in the movie in episode 320- THE UNEARTHLY and for a brief appearance as doomed lothario Jerry Lando in the movie in episode 802- THE LEECH WOMAN. As adept at comedy as at dramatic roles, Batanides is perhaps best remembered as Mr. Kirkland in the "Police Academy" films and for numerous guest appearances on TV series including "Happy Days," "Mission: Impossible," "Star Trek," "I Spy," "The Wild Wild West" and "The Dick Van Dyke Show."
