NEW PORT RICHEY, FLA.--Arlon Ober, who worked as a composer and orchestrator in films and TV for a quarter century, died here December 20. He was 61. MSTies will remember his score to the film in episode 704- THE INCREDIBLE MELTING MAN.

A native of Cambridge, Mass., he spent most of his life creating musical compositions for movies and TV. He is perhaps best known for his work for the children's series "ABC Story Break" and "Robotech." Among the films to which he contributed are "Private War" (1990), "DeepStar Six" (1989), "Child's Play" (1988) and "Eating Raoul" (1982).

He conducted the London Philharmonic Orchestra, as well as the Burbank Orchestra; he also worked on numerous theatrical plays.

He is survived by his wife and two children.
