TOKYO–Actor Joe Shishido, best known internationally for his work with Seijun Suzuki, died at his home here on Jan. 20. He was 86.
MSTies will never forget his role as Captain Joe in the movies in episodes 310- FUGITIVE ALIEN and 318- STAR FORCE: FUGITIVE ALIEN 2 (and of course episodes K12- FUGITIVE ALIEN and K03- STAR FORCE: FUGITIVE ALIEN 2.) This story is in Japanese but Google does a reasonable job of translating. Thanks to Melody for the heads up. Minneapolis–Barry ZeVan, whose witty, energetic “peek-a-boo” forecasting style at KARE-TV and KSTP-TV endeared him to area weather watchers in the 1970s and 1980s, died here Jan. 1.
Longtime MSTies will recall his brief appearance in a host segment in episode K17- TIME OF THE APES. The latest edition of Aaron Bossig’s “Hungry Trilobyte” podcast features an interview with … moi. Enjoy.
