Posted by Sampo, on January 23rd, 2011 • RiffTrax says it has apparently been trying to convince NetFlix to add its pre-synched video-on-demand titles, such as “Voodoo Man,” “Plan 9 From Outer Space,” “Maniac” and the Shorts collections, onto its popular Watch Instantly service and having no luck.
For reasons that pass understanding, considering that MST3K episodes are pretty popular selections on Watch Instantly, the NetFlix honchos say they doubt the VOD titles have “they don’t think our DVDs have enough “queue demand.”
The RiffTrax folks are asking NetFlix members who want to be able to stream those titles to show your interest by going here and adding some or all of RiffTrax’s titles to your DVD rental queue. On Twitter, you can send a nice message to @Netflix and @Netflixhelps to let them know you’d love to have them add RiffTrax titles to Watch Instantly.
• Also, we just got around to noticing that our pals over at The Annotated MST have been adding new titles, including eight KTMA episodes. Links to them have been added to the appropriate Episode Guide entries.

My inclusion is “Kitten With a Whip.”
I’m sure I’ve personally mentioned it a few times over the years but my reason for not being able to sit through it is the utter stupidity of Forsythe’s character is just painful and as it is the lynchpin of the movie, makes it unwatchable. And by that I mean the fact that the moment he saw Jody on TV he should have been running to the cops. He did absolutely nothing wrong other than getting conned and had absolutely no reason to become panicked and keep the story to himself. I try to watch it every so often but always lose it when I get to the point where he goes back to his house to find Jody there and even as it becomes clear that she’s a complete bag of crazy, he still refuses to call the cops.
So, Luke has a problem with an infuriating plot. But that’s just be one reason you might not be able to sit through an episode. Me, I’m going to go with 209- THE HELLCATS. Bad visuals, bad audio and the story meanders around and ends up nowhere, and the segments are retreads. About 20 minutes in I’m lookin’ at my watch and wandering if the dishes need washing.

Ooh! Good one! This isn’t normally the way MST3K does things, but in this case I think it’s appropriate: Please explain the riff so everybody gets it. (As usual, if you use more than one link, it may take a bit for your post to appear.)
Also, maybe you could include a word or two about what this riff means to you (since I find that a MSTie’s favorite obscure riff usually speaks to who that person is).
It’s hard to pick an all-time favorite, but one I dearly love is from episode 508- Operation Double 007:
[In the voice of KITT from “Knight Rider”] “Michael, I want all the episodes of ‘Captain Nice’ burned.”
Captain Nice was an INCREDIBLY forgettable 1967 one-season loser starring William Daniels, the voice of KITT. Similar to the “Addams Family”/”The Munsters” competition, it had a competing show (another one-season loser) called “Mr. Terrific“…but I digress.
I think I love this riff because I was 10 years old when these shows came out and it seemed like TV was talking right to me, and I never forgot that feeling.
