Our condolences go out to his family, friends and fans. Our condolences also go out to anyone who has ever seen “Road House.”

It’s only tangentially MST-related, but several people have written to inform us that Jeff Healey, the blind blues-rock singer/guitar player who had a prominent role in “Road House” as a blind blues-rock singer/guitar player, passed away last Sunday. He was 41.
Our condolences go out to his family, friends and fans. Our condolences also go out to anyone who has ever seen “Road House.” Another riotous set of campaign commercials from Rifftrax is out.
Wesley Clark give Hillary a, perhaps, too enthusiastic endorsement. Hillary denounces “Point Break.” John McCain doesn’t pay his green screen bill and suffers the consequences. Hillary proposes super-smart babies for all (that sounds like Bridget). The Boogeyman is the answer! A power ballad for John McCain (sung by Kevin) Obama gives voters what they want: Sven and Ole jokes. Today we begin a new feature: the weekend discussion thread.
The first topic of discussion: How did you discover/find out about MST3K? My story can only be told after telling you another story, which is this: That’s my story. What’s yours? ![]() The latest RiffTrax release from Mike, Kevin and Bill is another short, this time 1951’s “The Terrible Truth.” Just 99 cents and hey, it’s DRM-free! So please download responsibly. Speaking of downloading, you can download the original short or watch it as streaming video over at archive.org. Former Minneapolis Star-Tribune columnist, current Minneapolis Star-Tribune Web guy and the proprietor of what is probably the greatest, funniest, weirdest Web site ever (YMMV), James Lileks, bleated today: “…I will be doing a super-secret project with Mike Nelson of MST3K fame…” Could this mean he will be a Rifftrax guest riffer?? This is something that fans of both Rifftrax and Lileks (such as yours truly) have been pushing for since they became aware that Mike and James are pals. James, a former radio host for a number of years (who still does a great weekly podcast), is ridiculously smooth in front of the microphone and has a great ear for comedy. He should drop into a Rifftrax slot like a hand in a perfectly fitting glove, he should. Here’s hoping! |
