Posted by Sampo, on May 22nd, 2020  LONDON — Veteran sound man Ken Nightingall, who worked in the British film industry for four decades, died at his home here on May 19. He was 92.
Among the notable films he worked on was “Lost in Space” (1998), sevveral James Bond movies, “Saturn 3” (1980) and “Supergirl.” (1984). His most famous credit, however, is a movie on which he worked uncredited: “Star Wars IV: A New Hope” (1977). The boom operator developed a following and was known to “Star Wars” fans as “Pink Shorts Boom Guy,” because of his distinctive outfit he often wore during filming.
MSTies may not know that he was also an uncredited boom operator for the movie in episode 905- THE DEADLY BEES.

Posted by Sampo, on May 18th, 2020  PARIS–French actor Michel Piccoli, known for roles in Luis Buñuel’s “Belle de jour” and Jean-Luc Godard’s “Contempt,” died here May 12. He was 94.
Piccoli’s vast filmography, which spanned more than 200 films from 1949 to as recently as 2015, included a number of Buñuel’s films, including “Belle de jour,” “The Milky Way” and “The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie.”,
MSTies will recall that he played Inspector Ginko in the movie in episode 1013- DIABOLIK.

Posted by Sampo, on May 9th, 2020  NASHVILLE–Richard Penniman, better known as Little Richard, who combined the sacred shouts of the black church and the profane sounds of the blues to create some of the world’s first and most influential rock ’n’ roll records, died here May 9. He was 87.
MSTies will fondly remember his cameo, as himself, in episode 204- CATALINA CAPER.
