Posted by Sampo, on May 17th, 2018 SHERMAN OAKS, CALIF–Joseph Campanella, a prolific character actor whose career on the big and small screens spanned more than a half-century, died May 16 at his home here. He was 92.
Among his nearly 200 credits were a regular in the role in first season of the 1967-75 CBS cop drama “Mannix,” for which he earned an Emmy nomination, and a Daytime Emmy-nominated late-’80s/early-’90s role as Harper Deveraux in the long-running NBC soap “Days of Our Lives.” He also appeared as Jonathan Young in nearly 100 episodes of CBS’ soap “The Bold and the Beautiful” from 1996-2005.
Longtime MSTies will recall that he played Frank Lafferty in the movie in episode K19- HANGAR 18.
The Hollywood Reporter has the story.
Thanks to Timmy for the heads up.

The Singles Collection is out next week, and reviews are starting to come in, uncluding one from our old pal Bruce Westbrook.
Posted by Sampo, on May 12th, 2018 Alert reader “Son of Peanut” suggests:
I’m watching “Avalanche” as I write this and thinking about how this might be the most stereotypically “’70s-ish” of all the ’70s movies the show has riffed. The hair, clothes, decor, music, setting, story – all creating a time capsule of the era, at least for me.
What other MST3K movies define their decades for you?
I’m gonna go with “The Brute Man” for the ’40s, since the Creeper is clearly a metaphor for Hitler…
What’s your pick?
