Posted by Sampo, on May 20th, 2018 Josh of The JM Archives has posted an in-depth interview with Jim Mallon on YouTube.
It’s a very good interview, with lots of new information.
Among other things, I believe it is the first time he has addressed the death of his daughter (an open secret among many MSTies) and its effect on MST3K.
One other note: I know there are some MSTies who are not fans of Jim. I am going to ask all the commenters to maintain a civil tone in the comments here. If not, we will close comments. I would also direct you to the YouTube page, where you can go nuts in the comments, as far as we are concerned.
Posted by Sampo, on May 19th, 2018 First of all, sorry I’m late. Rough week.
Back in 2012, we did a “top 10 essential episodes” — not necessarily your personal favorites, but ones every fan should see.
Well, a certain alert regular who shall remain nameless :::COUGHYeti!COUGH::: thinks its timne we redo our lists, in light of season 11.
So, heave to: Of the now-more-than-200 MST3K episodes, are any a MUST-see? And what ep, on your original top ten essentials, would it displace?
The previous thread is here if you want to look yourself up.

Posted by Sampo, on May 17th, 2018 SHERMAN OAKS, CALIF–Joseph Campanella, a prolific character actor whose career on the big and small screens spanned more than a half-century, died May 16 at his home here. He was 92.
Among his nearly 200 credits were a regular in the role in first season of the 1967-75 CBS cop drama “Mannix,” for which he earned an Emmy nomination, and a Daytime Emmy-nominated late-’80s/early-’90s role as Harper Deveraux in the long-running NBC soap “Days of Our Lives.” He also appeared as Jonathan Young in nearly 100 episodes of CBS’ soap “The Bold and the Beautiful” from 1996-2005.
Longtime MSTies will recall that he played Frank Lafferty in the movie in episode K19- HANGAR 18.
The Hollywood Reporter has the story.
Thanks to Timmy for the heads up.
