RIP Bent Mejding

Danish actor and director, known for his work in “A Royal Affair” (2012), “Brothers” (2004) and the TV series “Matador” (1978-1982) has died. He was 87.

MSTies may remember his work his role as Svend Viltorft in the movie in episode 1101- REPTILICUS.

RIP Jonathan Haze

LOS ANGELES — Jonathan Haze, who appeared in numerous Roger Corman cheapies, including “The Little Shop of Horrors,” died at his home here Nov. 2. He was 95.

A familiar face in movies riffed by MST3K, he played Pvt. Manuel Ortiz in the movie in episode 311- IT CONQUERED THE WORLD, a caveteen in the movie in episode 315- TEENAGE CAVEMAN, Ottar in the movie in episode 317- VIKING WOMEN AND THE SEA SERPENT, a pickpocket in the movie in episode 503- SWAMP DIAMONDS, Jake Hays in the movie in episode 511- GUNSLINGER and a radioactively contaminated man in THE DAY THE WORLD ENDED (riffed by fans in Sci-fi Channel’s “MST3K: The Home Game”).

RIP Alan Rachins

LOS ANGELES — Actor Alan Rachins, perhaps best known for his role as sharp attorney Douglas Brackman Jr. on TV’s “L.A. Law” or the spacey dad in TV’s “Dharma & Greg,” died at a hospital here on Nov. 2. He was 82.

MSTies will remember his role as the pawnbroker in the movie “Time Walker,” seen in episode 405- BEING FROM ANOTHER PLANET.
