RiffTrax Live: Santa Claus TONIGHT!

Looking forward very much to the “director’s cut” version of this movie! I’m suspecting we’re going to meet some of the lovable characters from “Santa’s Village of Madness.”

As a sidenote — the monthly “Bad Movie Thursday with MST3K” in Scranton has been cancelled for December. We were going to do “Santa Claus” on Dec. 4 and…well…somebody stole our thunder. :-) I know I hinted at the November show that we might reschedule and do a different movie, but the holiday season at the Cultural Center is just too crazy to wedge in an alternate date.
We’ll return Jan. 22nd with “The Magic Voyage of Sinbad” — unless RiffTrax decides to do THAT next!

Cyber Monday Reminder

Just a note on “Cyber Monday” that just about anything you could want for the holidays, or for that MSTie on your list, is in the column to the right. That includes our wacky catchphrase T-shirts, hoodies, sweatshirts and more, a variety of stuff that has our logo on it, plus items from our pal Mike at CheesyFlix, the huge episode deal at Vimeo, plus items from Amazon, RiffTrax and Shout!Factory

And, we don’t do this very often, but once every year or two we rattle the cup, so here goes: I direct your attention to the column at the left of the page, which has the item that says “Support Us.” As it says there, we are not supported in any way way by Best Brains or anybody else. We have a few advertisers, but at the end of the day, paying for hosting fees is up to us. So, if you find this site useful or entertaining, we would be most grateful for any donation you could make.

Weekend Discussion Thread: MSTed Movies as Cartoons

Alert regular “Sitting Duck” suggests:

Recently I read this news piece about how CW had discontinued what was the last Saturday morning cartoon programming block. Seeing as how so many Saturday morning cartoons were adapted from movies and live action shows, let’s mourn the tradition’s passing by discussing what MST3K movies could be reimagined as Saturday morning cartoons. I’ll start by suggesting Master Ninja, which would probably be a lot like the cartoon version of The A-Team.

I have to go with The Pumaman. The flying scenes might seem more believable than the movie. I can see myself sitting in my parents’ living room eating a bowl of Froot Loops while everybody else is asleep and watching that.
