Posted by Sampo, on October 13th, 2012 BILOXI, Miss. — TV and radio personality Gary Collins, known for his roles in television series including “The Sixth Sense” and “Charlies Angels” has died of natural causes at a hospital here Oct. 13. He was 74.
Longtime MSTies will remember his role as Steve Bancroft in the movie in episode K19- HANGAR 18.
The AP has an obit.

Thread poster Mitchell “Rowsdower” Beardsley, in our discussion of “12 to the Moon”, mentioned an Anthony Dexter triple feature. Tempting, but what are some other favorites? What shows just go well together? For my money, back-to-back eps “King Dinosaur” and “First Spaceship on Venus” go well together as they are not only similar genres, but are good examples of the show’s ascent. In that vein, “Boggy Creek” and “Track of the Moonbeast” remind me how great the final days were.
My double feature pick: Catalina Caper and Horror of Party Beach. Lots of teener action.
As for a triple feature –and, wow, if you can manage a triple feature of MST3K you are hardcore (but if you frequent this site, I guess you are) — I would suggests a tribute to 1987: Alien From L.A., Robot Holocaust and Space Mutiny.
What would you pick? Use any criteria you want.

Posted by Sampo, on October 8th, 2012 Derrick Blair of Stitcher.com’s Now It’s the News interviews Bill (pretty briefly) about the upcoming “Birdemic” show. He interviews Ralph Nader and Evan Thomas first. Bill’s interview starts at about the 31-minutes mark.
Posted by Sampo, on October 6th, 2012 “Startibartfast, maker of fjords” got me started with this:
Which characters should have died, but didn’t in a MSTied movie. My candidate is the annoying boy in “The Black Scorpion.” Any number of times. But, sadly, he survived.
But I want to expand it: Let’s also talk about characters who died undeserving deaths. And let’s start by ruling out poor innocent Carrie in “Girl in Lovers Lane” as too easy. My pick is Sid Melton’s character in “Lost Continent,” who does absolutely nothing (other than being annoying comic relief) to deserve being devoured by a triceratops.
As for people who lived, how about awful Betty in “High School Big Shot”? Shouldn’t she at least have gotten winged in the crossfire?
What’s your pick?
