Posted by Sampo, on September 15th, 2012 During our episode guide discussion this week, “sol-survivor” mentioned that greasy, treacherous loser
…Watney is at the very top of my list of Characters I Do Not Want Trapped In An Elevator With Me.
I immediately smelled a WDT, especially when “GizmonicTemp” added:
Nice! I think we should also include characters you WOULD want to be trapped in an elevator with (you know, since we’re talking about Talena this week and all).
For “wouldn’t want to be trapped” I would have to go with the fat mountain climber from “”The Crawling Eye.” Nuff said there.
For “would want to be trapped” I would pick Dr. Kolos from “The Human Duplicators” — he could probably beam us out of there.
What are your picks?
By the way, keep those thread suggestions coming!
Posted by Sampo, on September 14th, 2012 Diane Tedeschi at Air & Space magazine has an article about spacesuits in movies, that includes several references to MSTed movies.
Thanks to Bob for the heads up.
Posted by Sampo, on September 13th, 2012 As if the “Ladies of Ragnarok” concert tour wasn’t enough fun, our pal Joseph Scrimshaw will be joining the tour for the Chicago, Madison and Minneapolis dates. How is this relevant, you ask? Well, even as Joseph is joining the ladies, Bill will, in turn, be joining Joseph for the Chicago (Evanston, really) date (Oct. 3) and Minneapolis date (Oct. 4).
THIS JUST IN: Kevin will ALSO be a guest at the Minneapolis date!
“Thirst Theater: The No Round” is a series of “bite-sized” plays by Bill, Peter Sagal of NPR’s “Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me” and others, Monday, Oct. 1, at 7 p.m. at the Eat Street Social Club, 18 W. 26th St.,
Minneapolis. More info here.
Oh and one more: Bill sits down with Levi Weinhagen for a long conversation about kids and life and work on Weinhagen’s podcast “Pratfalls of Parenting.”
Posted by Sampo, on September 11th, 2012 Trace will be the special guest at a screening of the classic “This Is Spinal Tap” Thursday, Sept. 13, at 7 p.m. at Pepitos Parkway Theater, 4814 Chicago Avenue So. in Minneapolis. More info here.

It’s County Fair time all over the nation. Batter-dipped bacon time, for many. But it also means rides. Specifically, theme rides.
So, if you could base a ride on an episode, what would it be?
The “The-Incredibly-Strange-Creatures-Who-Stopped-Living-And-Became-Mixed-Up-Zombies Rollercoaster” is an obvious choice, but what about the “Wanda Saknussemm Fall to the Center of the Earth!” or, of course, “Torgo’s Shake Shack.”
How about: the Radar Secret Service ride, which you just drive straight and level for a while, then stop.
What’s your idea?
