UPDATE: Todd VanDerWerff of The Onion’s “A.V. Club” has a general Comic-Con perspective, that includes a mention of the biggest surprise at the panel. Joel will host the start of the sixth annual “Project Twenty1” film competition, in which filmmakers have 21 days to make a short film, which must contain a common “element” that will be announced at the kickoff event, which will take place Saturday, July 28, 2-6 p.m. at the Triumph Brewing Co. in Philadelphia. More info here.
It’s still a few weeks away, but the RiffTrax Live show is getting closer all the time. They’ll be doing the show in Nashville, and from the Examiner.com crew there comes an interview with Mike, Bill and Kevin with Chris Griffy, who covers the “nerd culture” beat (ugh).
LOS ANGELES — Ernest Borgnine, who delivered an Academy Award-winning performance as the lonely Bronx butcher looking for love in the 1955 drama “Marty” and displayed his comic side in the 1960s as the star of the popular TV sitcom “McHale’s Navy,” has died July 8 of apparent kidney failure at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center here. He was 95. MSTies will remember his performance as the grandfather in the movie in episode 1003- MERLIN’S SHOP OF MYSTICAL WONDERS.
Comic-Con starts this week and if you’re going you might want to know that on Thursday, July 12, 6-7 p.m. in the Indigo Ballroom of Hilton San Diego Bayfront…
Who’s in the what, now? Birdemic live show in October? You heard it here first. |
